I highly recommend someone at CCP order this from Amazon:

.NET Webservices for Dummies

No idea if it's a good book or not but hey, it can't hurt right?

Some random problems to download API files : HTTP/1.1 503 Service Unavailable

In my case, more than 270 time-out in 2000 files (only in the last 10 minutes)

Yeah, CCP has been poked about this, and their ops people are on the case...

I have noticed the strange behavior of the API server since after DT. What impressed me is that noone posted any complains in the EVEMon forums (claiming that EVEMon is acting weird). Usually in such cases I had to explain the obvious.

This may prompt me to add a routine to deactivate API verification on our site when these sort of problems occur. Half our members on TS had their rights removed this morning.

Come on CCP, sort this out.

Wondered why the number of processed tasks flatlined for me today. Oh well, guess now is a good time to test that my code is catching errors correctly during a outage Lol

its been happening since lunch :/

actually forced me to finally re-write my error handling and DB logs << good thing... i cant test anything at all beyond it safly falling over with an error << bad thing...

shame ccp uses Windows :/

sudo service apache2 restart

ftw \o/

Fake edit: before anyone whines yes i know Apache is linux (unless your doing something silly like using Plesk) ... ccps stuff would be a million times better if it was not on windows...

I keep getting authentication access errors for random valid keys on rare occasions since a few weeks.
"Illegal page request! Please verify the access granted by the key you are using!"
Access masks for effected keys are matching calls. I even got this error for a APIKeyInfo calls so it must be something on CCPs side.

Yeah API is hosed for me tonight. 2:44am Eve Time, 10:45pm EST.

I could go and step through the code and figure out why the API isn't working but frankly it's late and I'm not in the mood.

Oh and that whole "Scotty" error message isn't nearly as amusing as some of you folks at ccp might believe.

Here we go again. Internal error. Scotty. Etc etc etc.

Frankly at this point I'm considering just keeping this alive and just bumping it every time the API server goes "Earth shattering kaboom".
