Hi all,

I am Ira Zateki, a new rookie pilot with a trial pilot license. I am from the Amarr Empire, and just left the Royal Amarr Institute (finish tutorial). I became quite familiar with space navigation, I mined very few asteroid and got my first ISK, finally iit is not so tough to pilot a small ship...

But now, I am stuck because I don't know what to do, I explain :
I have tried a level 1 Security mission from an agent who ask me to secure an area, I came to the right place, and found 4 pirates...they almost killed me, I run away....

Second try, I took a mission level 1 Distribution, the agent asked me to transport some goods from different place, but not the probleme is that my ship has a too small cargo size....

So 2 missions, and twice impossible to realize for a beginner....
Please, could you help me ?

By the way, if a cooperation is recruiting rookie pilote and who would be kind to help my first steps...I would be grateful...
Lastly, I am french, no matter to speak in english, but, I would be glad to find a french community either.

Thank you for your time.

Security mission? Do the career tutorials first. There are five I think, do them all. Like one is for combat. Advanced combat. Exploration etc. Should be in your starting area. By the time you finish them, you should be able to smash through level 1 combat missions with little effort. You also get free ships from the tutorials.

Here's a link http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Career_Agents

I follow the mission from the Aura AI...I have an impayror (not sure for spelling). A laser gun (instead of a gatling gun) and 2 repair modules.

Normally, I finished the tutoriel "arc" and if I try to speak with Aura, she tell me that I can restart tutoriel, but nothing else...that's why I supposed that I need to seek somewhere else.

At the starting station, there is only 1 agent : Aura...

Yeah, that is just the basic tutorial. Follow that link above, it gives you the career tutorial names/locations. I'd do all five (and have a number of times), but that's up to you to decide. Once you finish those, things will make more sense. After that, which could take a week to do them all, there is an epic arc named "the blood stained stars" offered by the sisters of eve which should be located close to you. By the time you finish all that, you should be doing pretty well.

One thing we usually point out to newcomers is that Impairor isn't really a ship to fly if you are expecting to be engaged in any sort of combat.

Do the careers tutorials as was already suggested, you'll recieve some ships to start your affairs. Tormentors, Punisher or Coercer you'll recieve will do L1 security missions just fine (just make sure that you are outfitting them with modules optimally to do so, google some fitting guides or fits for those ships). Sigils are good for distribution missions. Magnates will help you with exploration (chech exploration guides and scanning totorials, youtube will do the job).

Welcome and good luck :)

Thank you for your welcome message.
Yes I will do full tutorial missions and equipped my ship with module...
I have few ISK thanks to my mining job, I supposed that market is also a starting point important to develop my economy.

Stay in Hisec untill you are ready to dip into playing with your overview & making up a Tab purely for getting your POD out & back to safety.

And when you are ready to loose your ships.

Stay out of Rancer unless you are in a tanked covops. This will be out of reach for you in your trial membership.

Don't stress about not knowing what to do, only you can work that out develop an appreciation of what potential EVE has to offer you in comparison to your preferences & idiosyncracies.

Contract Hauling : Most of it is scams

Various forms of trading : Takes too long to learn in your trial probably

Combat Missions : Easy, uses character skills that are useful in PvP. Good income, gets increasingly boring after awhile.

EVE Online does not have much in the way of PvE entertainment. PvP is where its at and that is better as part of a group, there is also the social aspect. Most Player corps wont accept people on trial accounts.

Yes, I agree with your opinion against trial member, I prefer to make my 14 days, and once it's done, purchase a full membership.
But it is not a reason to start to explore the potential of the game.

Although I totally agree with that. There are people that play this game purely for it's PVE content and avoid PVP and they enjoy it.

When somebody says pvp suck or pve sucks or indy sucks.... Figure out for yourself what you like to do and take it from there. Ignore what other people say is fun and figure that out for yourself.

Hmm? You mean courier contracts? I've never posted a scam, ever. I also do courier contracts if they are worth my time and expertise (cov-ops hauling included). There are various scams (as with anything), but you can usually bypass those, they're well known like most scams. Like with any profession, you need to do your research, extensively. That includes industrial haulers and such, if that's what you do, it's a worthy trade especially for us traders and can be started your first week if you so choose (newbie guides exist for it).

PvE, 7/10. Could be better but it serves a purpose. Still again, depends on your profession choices. Could use better AI, eh but CCP is an indie developer so I give them an extra +1 to their PvE rating as with all tings indie. I'll complain after some AAA starts tripping over themselves trying to please their player-base (lol never).

Check the "pick up location" you may NOT have docking rights there
Check the "drop off location" you may NOT have docking rights there
Check the route between these 2 location, F10 [Statistics] Ship kills, Pod kills etc
Check reward/collaterol ratio vs distance to be travelled ....

(Package size doesnt really mean much as a single module may only take up 5m3 but be worth 1bil on the open market.)

Basically, people place Courier Contracts, wait for it to be accepted, and then intercept the courier with an alt.
When the Couriers ship is destroyed, they then lose the collaterol they placed with the contract brokers.
The Alt may get lucky and be able to re-scoop the cargo for another round of isk collecting.

Yep, that's one possibility, of a number of scams of the like. Answer is: You have plenty of time to take the delivery in most cases, days even sometimes. I don't take contracts ready to expire of course, potential problems. Otherwise if taking it fast and running it for someone you have never done contracts for, don't undock in something that is not capable of either avoidance or tanking through. Keep in mind though, trading is one of the greatest gambles of the game, you can loose a lot, but also one of the most lucrative.

Ira, I will send a mail to you in-game offering you help and I will lead you in to my corps public channel. Not necessarely(<- Can't spell I know) but so we can help you. Tell me if you need a few million ISK or a few skill books maybe. EvE can be harsh and quite overwhelming at first and you really need a helping hand, plus my corp would love more members with a great attitude. ;)

See you 'round and good luck.
