Not only would the normal english plural be bonuses in the same way as we don't refer to people's ani...

Actually, the latin plural of 'anus' is 'anus' (fourth declension) anyway.

Edit: on topic - AFs are okay - cov ops-skill dependent ships have their specific niche uses - combat oriented ceptors are in need of a little love after the T1 frig rebalance - same goes for Ewar frigs.

As is 'Incursus' I believe.

1 Incursus... 2 Incursus.... 10 Incursus etc

As I understand it the latin root for bonus would be bonum which should pluralise as bona (in the same way as media is the plural of medium) and so boni would be the wrong suffix anyway...

Bonus, -a, -um is an adjective. So it's plural form depends on the gender.

If it's modifying a masculine or mixed group in the Nominative case (losely, the subject of the sentence), it would be Boni.
A feminine group, it would be Bonae.
A Nuter group, Bona.

I've forgotten how to use adjectives as nouns in Latin. Was never very good at it.

Who are these Boni's that you speak of? Are they the ship's crews?

You never had Latin as language do you?
Positiv Plural Nominativ
maskulinum: boni
feminunum: bonae
neutrum: bona

one bonus
several boni (or bona if you take it as neutrum (it))

So MY mistake was to see it as maskulin like in German (-i) ... but for you english guys it's neutrum (-a) ... ( which feels horible wrong somehow ... I still prefare the -i ).

"bonuses" is ALLWAYS wrong and if you got it from wiki ... ignore wiki ... it's just WRONG and not existent!
And no, I don't care about bubblegum US slangs ;).

And I mean the new Tech 1 frigat-bona like 5% damage + 5% resitences from the Punisher.

Why the hell can't I fitt capital repairs or shield booster on an Orca ... it's an CAPITAL ship!

Bona would be correct, as would bonum. If we were speaking in Latin. The English language words 'bonus' and 'bonuses' are derived from Latin.

I had Latin in church

Edit. I sound like a knob here, don't I? Apologies.

Bonuses. If it bothers you, ask for a Latin board, since this isn't it.

They do need a few tweaks here and there for consistency.

e.g. The Atron now has 3 turrets but the Ares still only has 2 turrets when now it should really have 3.

Also it would be nice if the rep bonus of the Incursus was carried to the assault frig versions (or at least one of them like Caldari have). Having a turret optimal bonus on both the Enyo and the Ishkur seems a bit silly.

I think it is fine that CCP reworkes it ship by ship. This forces people to rethink their fafourite ships and fittings from time to time and adds some turbulences to the market. I just hope they will look at every ship over the time (especially the Tier 1 Faction Cruisers) and I also hope they will not remove all split weapon ships. Current plans for Typhoon make me sad.

I think a lot if people don't understand what ongoing rebalancing means.

We understand perfectly what it means, we just have no faith in ccp to really keep it "ongoing". CCP has a massive history of leaving gaping holes in their balance plan. The perfect time to adjust t2 variants is when you're adjusting the t1s or else you end up with a minimal power gap between progressions of ships that will inevitably last for years based on ccp timeline history.

I'm more worried about what is going to happen to hacs and field commands which are already underrepresented / underpowered in pvp for most races atm. Once BCs are rebalanced their may be literally almost no gap in performance between tech 1 and tech 2, you can already see that tech 1 bcs have higher base hp values compared to their t2 variants brought about by a long forgotten tech 1 bc hp buff 6+ years ago that for some magical reason was never applied to their tech 2 variants resulting in the discrepancy we have today. The issue is that ccp forgets **** and leaves gaping holes in their design "plans".

In conclusion, CCP needs to start with tech 1 ships in each class as far as rebalancing goes however they need to rebalance the t2s before they move onto next class of t1s. This really should not take years to do, other MMOs with far more complicated mechanics resulting in far more effort put into balancing do this **** in a mere fraction of the time as ccp...

Rebalance T1 ships first to rebalance T2 second sounds logical, I hope they do it that way from now on.

THIS !!!! And they need to devote more poeple to the effort. It is central to any game's health.

and as for the Latin linguistic discussion. How about plural possessives like my Brutixes bonuses relative strength . . or ah **** it let's just go with the Brutixeseses bonuseseses relative strength is . . P

Meh. They are still T1 frigs and severely limited in terms of fitting and functionality.

The Merlin certainly got a boost when it went to 3 turrets rather than the classic 2x2 set up, but it is by no means OP. DPS potential is good with blasters for a T1 frig, but blasters have their inherent limitation. Granted, it's a beast tank for a T1 frig, but, again, not invincible by an means.

The Incursus is one of my least favorite T1 frigs. It's good, I just hate the kit.
