since this is a trial account i cannot post it in the suggestion forum, but this is the suggestion, i can deal fine with the english client. but there are a lot of spanish speakers in the game, and i wonder to the devs if you could do an Spanish translation for the game. we have Russian, Deustch and even Japanese clients. there's plenty of oportunities to get from the spanish too. maybe extending CCP covering support to Latin America and Spain.

I too would like to see it done. I have an adequate proficiency of english due to me being a teacher of english second language, but I am the oddity among the core of spanish-speaking video game players. Having a translation to spanish would certainly attract more players from this side of the world

Being a teacher, don't you think it's actually better if there isn't a translated UI? I mean, the main reason why the Spanish and Germans have/had so many issues learning English is because they chose to translate everything that's aired on television. I learned English and German pretty early simply by watching movies and programs on TV. To me this is yet another opportunity to get exposed to it?

Also, it would probably help interaction with non-Spanish which, this being an MMO that's about teamwork, is probably a good thing.

The reason they've translated into languages like Russian or Japanese is that it opens the game to a wider demographic than translating to another Latin-based language. It is far easier for a Spanish speaker to pick up English than a Russian speaker, so they open up the game to more players by translating it into languages with a different base .

Yes, it might be slightly more annoying to people whose first language is Spanish or French or something like that, but translating is a lot of work and CCP gets FAR better returns on their effort by translating into languages with different bases. It might annoy you a bit, but it's just good business sense.

Vilnius zar- first of all what you said was kinda ignorant. translating to English is a bizzi because English is so fked up. second if they do make a Spanish translation (it won't be for a while) do you know how large a player base hispanics are...let me guess..no. also if you haven't noticed Spain Italy, and a couple other nation slot if there written and spoken words are very.similar malena a Spanish or even Italian translate would problem hlp player.base boom.

Mxzf....... Dude same thing said up there Latin base as you call it is freaking every were. Russian Japanese... Are only in one play and I might be wrong but don't Japanese have to learn English any ways.

nothing you guys said was... Well it was just useless
If you want a Spanish translation find more (alot more) Spanish players to rally behind you. And ignore the trolls.

But he is right, playing a MMO on an international server is pretty much the best way to learn english in no time.
From CCPs view, a translation obviously makes sense, since it basicly opens new markets.

But from a personal point of view, you're just giving away a chance to learn a language for free and have fun while doing so.

Also, people that are unable to speak english will only split the community because they will retreat to corps that speak their language and barely interact with anybody else.

yeah that is true. but some people like to play just to relax. and I know sitting there trying to translate is not relaxing, I know from personal experience
