Is the extra speed worth the signature radius penalty?

If you can do your job without MWD - Then no...
But otherwise yes...
Are they not too cheap to worry about?

It's not the expense, it's staying in the fight.

assuming you orbit then the lower damage from the speed/angular kinda negates the sig bloom, it generally evens out nicely. Also the increased speed makes it more difficult for drones to apply their dps, The increased speed helps to catch and keep up with fast movers so unless you plan to get into short scram/web orbit (something most tacklers aren't good at) MWD+long point just makes more sense, if they want it webbed they can bring a Rapier.

p.s. don't go full ****** on speedmods, many people do this and fit zero tank and THEN whine about how fast tacklers die. Fit an MSE and DC, being slightly faster is fairly useless if you're dead and can't tackle anymore.

When flying with an AB I've often wished I was flying with a MWD, but I've never felt the reverse. Go with the MWD.

when you have scram+web and they only have scram. your AB gives you an advantage.

Tedium and difficulty are not the same thing, if you don't realize this then STFU about game design.

One thing I've notced about orbits is that you don't got terribly fast when the radius is short. Do I need a inertia stab or nanofiber construction or seomthing?

Both.

MWD to close range, then switch to AB for tight orbit.

Is really too generic of a question

Are you in a frigate, cruiser, BC, BS?
Is the target a frigate, cruiser, BC, BS?

Is he Blaster fit? Missile fit? Arty fit?

Is his fit always going to be MWD?

Long point or short point goes hand in hand with the prop mod as well.

Short Version:
What ship are you tackling with?
