Any idea whether or not it is locked to one account or to the PS3 itself? My dad and my brother both play shooting games on the PS3 much more than I do and I'm just wondering if I sign up for it with my account if they could play it too.

I'm not too sure but I think it's because Microsoft would never let a game on their market without there being a way to make money off of it. That and they're against cross console gaming.

Actually, yeah, I do.

My friends got me to renew my subscription yesterday and I just found out about the DUST beta today.
Still haven't received my code either. Am I too late or something?

The game is accessible to all users on a PS3 as long as a valid PSN account owning the game is linked to the console. Logging in still binds them to the NDA.

As for Dust on 360 - it is mainly because Microsoft is the Apple of the console world. As a developer you can only provide games using their servers, having updates checked by their lengthy (weeks) QA group, and content sold for their minimum set price. Basically, Dust as a game connected to EVE with free expansions would never have worked. Sony is no Google Android, but they've been much more agreeable to CCP and have changed several policys to support Dust. Microsoft was not willing to do the same.

Whether or not Sony offered CCP an exclusivity agreement is a moot point as it sounds like Microsoft had already walked away from the table by then.

PC is more of a matter of CCP picking their markets, and isn't ruled out for a later release.

Yup if you had already registered your interest in the beta and received a PSN voucher code directly through Account Management, you would not have received one in yesterday's giveaway (because you already have one :p).

For full clarity for anyone else who might be in a similar situation and not realize:

The CCP code used to get a PSN voucher code through dust514.com/redeem is a 35 digit code with the description "DUST 514 Beta CCP Code" in the voucher center.

The PSN voucher code used on the PlayStation Store is a 12 digit code with the description "DUST 514: Closed Beta PSN Voucher Code" in the voucher center.

You use a PSN voucher code on the PlayStation Store to get DUST 514, and the code must be for that store's region (NA or EU).

Make Dust 514 for PC too! Otherwise I won't be playing it. Sorry never plan on getting a console. Sucks you all are limiting a great game to a small customer base. 90% of the people who play eve could care less about consoles. Your really limiting the exposure it gets by making it some silly exclusive deal for consoles.

oh, the console population... nevermind - don't have one of any kind, not getting one of any kind.

Bought one to play an FPS game I was then playing on a PC to see if the experience was better - gave it away to the kid next door after a about a month and went back to the PC and the same FPS game.

Did not like the way the game was dumbed down for the console and did not like playing with a population of 12 year olds.

Maybe it is different now, but the bad taste it left is still with me.

Get back to me when you have all your games on the same platform - PC

I had a similar problem earlier, It wouldn't send the verification mail to one address but when i tried with a different email it sent just fine.

DUST IS GREAT IDEA! Thanks for making it strictly for PS3......... WHY wouldn't you want it to be on more platforms or at the very least ON PC WHERE EVE IS ALREADY? I mean, capslock-grammar-stupid-aside, WHAT THE HELL? It's been on PC for what, 10 years now and all of a sudden an awesome expansion is what, being added ONLY to console? Really?

We love this game! We've played this game for years! No we're not entitled, no we don't deserve it, but man we don't want to see it fall short when it can and should be even better! Make more money! Add it to PC. Making the game more of a niche audience is ludicrous by any backwards bankers standard. Fine, go with PS3 but also at least have PC?

I sound like I'm demanding this, and we've really no call to, but I can't see the logic at all here for making this for PS3 only. Personally I'm not going to buy a PS3 because you can't be bothered to add something to EVE that IS honestly a great contribution to the game as it stands and would make sense. Why not make it free to play on PC? I mean, I want to say you've done you're research on this and noticed the MASSIVE PC market for free to play games - you tried before with the item shop, so why not with DUST and PC if you're so keen on it?

You folks are BRILLIANT but come on! Walking around stations? Battling on planets! Awesome! What about fixing Fighters? Can you folks please prioritize things a bit better instead of 'HEY LETS CHANGE INVENTORY!' because somehow, when redoing the Peanut Butter and Jelly, you managed to put it on the wrong side of the bread and set it on fire...

Would be awesome if I had, or even knew anyone that had, a PS3. Sad

Why did you put this game out as an exclusive on the LEAST popular gaming system? I have been hyped up and excited for this game since I first heard about it, but since it isn't for WII, Xbox, nor PC I will never get to play it. And I am not buying a console just for one game.

That awkward moment at the Gentlemen's Club when you see your sister on the stage....and you're not sure where to put the money....

Guys having problems with the codes and accounts: I just did it and did not need to go to my email once. Follow the steps in the OP (I didn't follow the on-screen instructions when I got to the claim website) and you should be fine.

Side note: To the people crying about not having a console or a PC port. DUST 514 was not "Built off your backs". You decided, on your own, out of free will, to give CCP your money in exchange for a product (EVE). What they do with your money is none of your business and you have no rights over it whatsoever.

Here's a fix for y'all: Buy a PS3 OR Play EVE Online. Boom! Science.
