Add more levels to skills. (No limits would be nice) but at- least level 6.

We should be able to control more labs slots ,more drones, more planets, jump further, more bonuses , dps etc etc .

Time multiplier would take care of balance. And bring more life to end game....old players more for them to train.

When people can build more and destroy more It may make eve more interesting..

Everything is already balanced. What justification is there to change things other than "I want more levels". The skill system has been extremely well designed and does an amazing job of balancing the game so that older players do get stronger and more versatile, but newbies can always compete with older chars if they focus some time into training a specific skillset.

Your proposal would ruin the very thing that makes Eve's skill system so amazing. No.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

When you have three characters on the same account, each with 100,000,000 skill points, then we'll talk.

Until then, you haven't fully utilized your account.

No...

Time multipliers will not take care of balance issues, this would ruin eve.

I just did the math. a large gunnery skill would take 190 million SPs at level 8. That's 8-10 years of training for a single skill. Level 7 would take almost two years. No one would take advantage of these options past level 6. Even a basic skill like engineering would require over 100 days to reach level 7, and that's with optimal attributes and +4 implants.

Still, opening certain skills up to higher levels completely destroys how ships are balanced by allowing currently-impossible fits.

Engineering, electronics, subsystem skills, anything that reduces capacitor demand...all of those are crucial to game balance. Uncapping them would cause serious damage. I could probably put together a plan to get absurd fitting options on a T3.

electronic and engineering subsystems 6, engineering and electronics 6, any relevant upgrades skill to 6, various other things...all leading up to the ability to fit modules not intended for that class of ship.

I fully support this so I can train all my tengu subs to 6 or 7, and train link spec skills to 6.

This gets asked once in awhile:

As an old character let me assure you that there is plenty to train. I play Eve in terms of years, planning remaps well ahead of time. The time it takes just to keep on top of what skills require what other skills is a task in itself. A yearly remap is ample time to research.

Right now I have 4 years planned out. After that I'm not sure what I'm doing, but I won't be out of skills to train. There will also be more skills in 4 years, so I'm ok with a touch of uncertainty.

Personally, I like how Eve handles this. Instead of L6, you get a new book with a new bonus. The first 3-4 levels are easy to train, and L5 benefits older or specialized players. While L6 seems like a good idea, I would have the current system. The time to train L6 would be a lot more for a lot less. Many people already complain about L5 skills. Adding L6 will just aggravate things.

Since the ToW at least two skills have been added (relating to the new armor and lock breaker modules). A third for the micro jump drive (a nav skill) is currently unreleased due to technical issues with the module (I believe I heard this from a dev in the ATX commentary/Q&A).

dont some implants take us over what level 5 skills provide. Over clocked skills is just an idea. adding level 6 to some skills may break the game but it may reward navigation skill pi skills research skills.... keep it in science indy and leadership.. but again it is just an idea. Guess i will just train another alt till titan 5 ............

I call BS.

Your character was created in November of 2009, that means you couldn't possibly have 70 million SPs on it.

You are a liar and therefore, whatever merit your idea might have had (which was very very little) is now gone.
