I use bluepill and exile for that extra boost when i'm active tanking. Exile is good insurance in a carrier if you need to tank more for a few seconds before you can dock.

Bottom line, everyone should ALWAYS be using synth boosters at least. More skilled & experienced players should be using higher variations depending on the ship / pilot style / expected engagement length, etc.

So confirming drugs in-game are like drugs out of game?

Everybody does them but it's hard to get people to admit to it...

Maybe EvE is closer to real life than we ever imagined O.o
