Hello,

my proposal is to add some skill(s) that influence Planetary Activities and make Planetarians as a separate specialty in EVE game. For example, i propose:

1.
Planetary Customs Office Connections
Explanation: Understanding of social concepts and mechanisms to decrease bureaucracy for exporting/importing
goods to/from planets.

Decreases the Export Tax from Command Centers by 5% per level.

Miscellaneous
Primary attribute :Charisma
Secondary attribute :Intelligence
Training time multiplier : 3 x

Required skills
Primary Skill required : Social Social III
Secondary Skill required : Diplomacy III , Social II

Structure
Volume : 0.01 m3

2.
Command Center Energy Management
Explanation: Understanding the ins and outs of Energy Management of a Command Center thus effectively optimizing
the Power grid Management of a Command Center.

Increases the Power grid output of a Command Enter by 5% per level.

Miscellaneous
Primary attribute : Intelligence
Secondary attribute : Memory
Training time multiplier : 3 x

Required skills
Primary Skill required : Engineering V, Science V
Secondary Skill required : Planetology IV

Structure
Volume : 0.01 m3

3.
Command Center Electronics Management
Explanation: Understanding the ins and outs of Electronics Management of a Command Center thus effectively
optimizing the CPU output of a Command Center.

Increases the CPU output of a Command Enter by 5% per level.

Miscellaneous
Primary attribute : Intelligence
Secondary attribute : Memory
Training time multiplier : 3 x

Required skills
Primary Skill required : Electronics V, Science V
Secondary Skill required : Planetology IV

Structure
Volume : 0.01 m3

Also, this way they can be a plethora of other skills that influence the various Planetary Infrastructure Items, such as Extractors, Storage silos etc. For example:

4.
Storage Facilities Specialization
Explanation: Ability to organize the storage of materials stored in a Storage Facility thus effectively
increase the amount of goods a Storage Facility can hold.

Increases the Storage Facility Capacity by 15% per level.

Miscellaneous
Primary attribute : Intelligence
Secondary attribute : Charisma
Training time multiplier : 3 x

Required skills
Primary Skill required : Science V, Trade V
Secondary Skill required : Planetology IV

Structure
Volume : 0.01 m3

Of course for Storage Facilities mentioned above there can be skills that decrease requirements for CPU/Energy etc.

I put also some amount of percentage arbitrarily, the numbers can be adjusted, but i think you get the idea.

The whole idea is to make Planetary Interactions a separate (micro)profession for an EVE player, much like Mining etc and not just a side activity.

TIA

This sounds like just another excuse to profit more from PI. I don't see any balancing suggested to accommodate the increase in output/decrease in taxes from these skills.

The idea i propose is to make the PI activity much more like a full profession on itself like Mining. There would be a lot of skills that make this activity much more fruitful, as it happens to mining too.

Have you seen this yet?

Eve is about Capital ships, WiS, Boobs, PI and Isk!

No, i haven't to be honest, i just had an idea and just posted it. What you proposed is an order of magnitude larger of my current thought - i just went for a set of skills that would make current PI implementation more like a full profession for a player as i wrote above. The pros of this is that it's very realistic and achievable in terms of development effort - just a set of skills and balancing, it does not require extensive resources and cost to CCP.

What is proposed though in the link you posted, is i would dare to say ...another mini-game. Not bad at all ofc, but different magnitude changes and costs.

Thanks for responding!
