Can one of the EVE experts answer a question for me?
Why is it that when you leave a base to go on a mission, sometimes you are offered via right click to "Deadspace: Warp to Location" and other times you must set destination and use auto pilot. Also, when you finish a mission and are returning to base, sometimes the right click offers "agent homebase" and other times you must set destination and auto-pilot there.
Whats the deal!?!

You only get the right-click in space option when you are in the same system as your destination.

You never have to use the autopilot.

What I suspect is happening is that you have accepted a mission in a different system. what to do, to avoid using the autopilot:

Set destination.
pick the stargate with the yellow icon (or look at the list telling you the next system and select that. it'll be the same one)
Hit the jump option.
Repeat until it's a station selected. Multi jump isn't unusual.

It'll be faster, as you don't need to crawl the 15km to the gate. you can just warp direct, if you do it manually.

Woo! CSM XI!

Right click and warp to deadspace = MIssion space is located in your current solar system.

Right click and set destination for AP = Mission space is located in a different solar system then you are.

Same with the return to base, when you can warp/dock it's in your solar system, when you have to set destination it's not.

It also tells you in the mission briefing which solar system your mission pocket is located.

Again, try not to use the autopilot at all if possible. It sinks ships :)

Especially if some of those squares in your path are orange or red.

Thank you all!
Makes sense to me now.
