Cheap Tengu Setup for Null

Deciding to re-purpose my Tengu for null.

What is the cheapest fit (preferably mostly T2 and low-end faction/deadspace) that can comfortably do Serpentis anoms or even plexes. I would rather not, just barely make it, or have to rely too heavily on my speed.

If it helps any, I have two T2 CCC and a T1 CCC on the Tengu.

Thanks.

That is a rather wide question.

Does you corp/ Alliance own the systems?

or are you sneaking in and out?

anyway's I think you should look at Mike712"s tengu loadout and work from there.

Battleclinic

Yes that has Faction modules in it.

worth something like 200 million, but you're flying a 700 million ship, it would be ill advice to cut on the modules.

I you can't afford 200 million run lvl 4 missions untill you can.

CCCs are not exactly optimal for a tengu; you can almost always get by with a ridiculously efficient small booster. i've heard that anoms can be done with HAMs, so maybe you should try a HAM setup with one flare rig instead of your T1 CCC and a large T2 booster, as well as a painter or web.

I should buy an Ishtar.

A cheap Tengu is called a Drake. That being said, here's the bare minimum I would feel comfortable with in empire or deep nullsec where I had a pos to warp to when neuts pop in local. Use the cloak and nullifier subsystems for travel and switch them once you get to where your going.

Tengu Defensive - Amplification Node
Tengu Electronics - CPU Efficiency Gate
Tengu Engineering - Augmented Capacitor Reservoir
Tengu Offensive - Accelerated Ejection Bay
Tengu Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst

The tengu scales very well with faction/deadspace mods, and it's a worthy investment. If you're only doing anoms (and belts) you don't really need a huge tank. A, "cheap" fit would be:

Subsystems:
Augmented Cap
Accelerated Ejection Bay
Dissolution Sequencer
Amplification Node
Fuel Catalyst

Launchers:
6x HM II

Mids:
pithi C-type small shield booster
T2 shield boost amplifier, Meta 4 if you can't use T2
10mn AB II
3x Hardeners - For serpentis I believe 2x Thermal 1x kinetic

Lows:
4x Ballistic Control II

Rigs:
You don't need to be cap stable. However, the problem is that you won't be able to fit launcher rigs, you'll hit your CPU limit (even with good skills). The best way around this is to upgrade your ballistic control systems to faction, Caldari Navy. However, they aren't cheap (although worth it, imo).

If you insist on staying cheap, stick with your CCCs. If you can upgrade the BCS to faction, I would go CCCx1 and rigor x2.

That's about as cheap as you're going to get. A Tengus tank is mostly speed, so pop a battlecruiser quick and orbit it's wreck. The pithi c-type is cheap and basically the minimum to tank anoms. I've run sanctums in this set up before, but it's more efficient in hubs.

edit: So basically the same as that guy above, but I reccomend the pithi c-type still. Also, that cpu efficiency subsystem is fine.

Thanks for the help and I said I would like to keep it cheap but not strictly t2. Also I am willing to take the CCCs off I just wanted to know if it would help with any fitting, but clearly with all the negativity around them, they're not...

Saw 'Drake' then looked at the fit and saw an active tank. Had a small heart attack before realizing it was a Tengu, instead of an active Drake. I would have lost all faith in the EVE community had I seen that abomination.

If its guristas your ratting just fit a pithum c type med booster or x2 gisti b smalls, 1 invuln.

Smack prop mod, tp's, web whatever in the extra mids.

Dont need any more resist than the ships default.

This is what I run in Amarr 0.0 against Sansha. It is NOT a PvP fit which is what a lot of people will tell you to run in 0.0. I happen to run in Sov space which I don't have to sneak in and out of all the time. As a few others have asked, you need to give specifics or otherwise you will get a million different fits.

6X HM II

Medium SB II
Shield Boost Amp II
EM Ward Amp II
EM Ward Field II
Therm Diss Field II
10MN AB II (or MWD II if u want more speed tank)

3X CN Ballistic Control II
Micro Auxilairy Power Core I (Unless you have PG implant to run the MWD II)

2 Med Warhead Flare Cat I
1 CCC I

Augmented Cap Reservoir
Amp Node
Disssoltion Seq
Fuel Catalyst
Accelerated Eject Bay

Other than the CN Ballistic Control Units, This isn't faction fit. Well under a billion so is considered cheap. With my skills using Scourge Fury HM's, I get 687 DPS. I get a little more using EM HM's against Sansha of course. Around 1200 per volley give or take against BS. I run Sansha Forsaken Rally's with this fit and it takes me about 30 minutes to clear each site. It's not cap stable but I don't have any cap issues as my range is about 100KM with t2 HM's. I just kite them outside their effective range. I dont start taking dmg until I get to 75KM of the BS's so I hardly ever use the SB or the MWD until i get that close.

If you're ninja ratting in someone elses sov territory, then you might want to run a covert nullifier fit which will seriously compromise your DPS. If you are running in "Sov Space" or area's where the Sov Owners are blue, then just throw a simple L4 fit with medium slots fit for whatever rats you are harvesting, if you feel secure

Who would ever be stupid enough to tell you to run a pvp tengu when jewing in null?
