Estimated timeframe for the new ORE Mining Frigate?

To CCP:

Is there an estimated timeframe for the new ORE Mining Frigate to be released or is it still being worked on?

I've noticed that the racial frigates meant for mining still have mining bonuses on them.

Do people intend to use the mining frigates? I thought people could usually train into one of the smaller mining barges pretty quickly.

Ah, ok. Thanks for the reply.

For a moment, I thought it'd come with this recent update with the changes to barges and exhumers.

It takes industry 5, mining 4, science 4, astrogeology 3 and about 20m in ship and fitting for a procurer.
People who just started and actually god forbid take up the shovel, need the frig for entry level work.

Yet to stay relevant after training past? Likely no one will use it, unless there is a t2 version which becomes "the gas miner".

Not to mention the mining frigs will most likely become a 'raid' frigate for mining in potentially hostile space for higher value ores. If you're only sitting on -0.3 systems and there's a nearby -1.0 but you REALLY need that mega or somesuch, could organise a frigate raid for mining it :P

Could be fun ^^

That sounds like that could be fun to set up-- "mining raids" in low sec.

Jump in, warp to belt, mine as much as you can, jump out. And, if the new mining frigate is affordable, losses would be minimal. You could have a fleet of ORE frigates with maybe Procurers to mine low sec belts as fast as possible.

Considering my love of frigs, I want to see nice agile 'ninja mining' frgis I can take into Amamake and Tama and mine away with dirty pirates chasing me down.

I'd train mining lasers I for that.

I like the idea of the raid mine. And if it ensures the further use of the ship by higher skilled characters, I'm sure CCP will like it too. Gas miner is a good, logical variant as well.

I like the idea of the "raid" mine too, but why bother when you can hoover up spacebucks in highsec while AFK for hours at a time? What?

Hopefully it'll have a utility high. The best part is that it'll need three turret slots and will have a lot of CPU, meaning it could end up being a pretty versatile ship. If it follows the current ORE pattern it'll be pretty damn tough too.

A professional astro-bastard was not available so they sent me.

Lets see, if a Tech 2 ORE miner dies in 9 seconds to destroyo gank. I'd same the Timeframe for a Frigate is somewhere around 2 seconds?

I like the idea of a small low skill mining frigate with a large ore hold that I can break out and do a little mining with as I watch some Netflix.

A Mining Barge Frigate that uses a lower type Stripper? That would make the traditional mining laser worthless.

I think it's better to redesign some T1-T2 frigs that get 5% mining bonus yield per level. Maybe 10%

Also getting into a mining barge takes like 9 days.

To be honest, it's fine as it is.
