WOW! T2 Armor Plates just shot up

I just notice all the T2 Armor Plates went up like crazy. What's going on?

Too late to join it any way. Patch notes pretty much dropped the bomb.

Price is way to speculated now to expect any sort of money from it now.

Odds are lots of ships won't use t2 any way because of the fitting reqs.

Well since I can't play during this extended downtime, I have had the opportunity to catch up on some reading and am curious on your thoughts of these 2 ideas of mine:


1.

If the T2 plates are now getting more HP than the meta 4's, it would seem (depending on the increase) that even with a harder fit, it might be worth it to use fewer T2 plates for a similar overall armor HP as before, freeing up a low slot, or simply to further tank the armor. I mean, surely they will be cheaper than faction even at grossly higher prices than before right?

2.

With the recent outbreak of war between Goons and NC. over tech 2 moons, would there not be both increased demand and reduced supply at the same time? I mean, more ships on both side will be destroyed than average, which will likely cause people to have to replace their armor more frequently. In addition, I would think the war would cause supply disruptions of newly made plates to market.

I'm certainly by far no expert at Eve, but it would seem to me that we are in the perfect storm for an item like this to break out and keep moving higher. If similar conditions were present in a real-life investment, I think it would be a perfect setup, but of course this is a game.

What do you think?

Ok, on more serious note. People figured it out before you so you too late probably to make any real money on it.
Had you been keen you'd have noticed the first news of this almost 2 months ago and prepared to buy up large amounts when facts hit the table (or even before).

As it is now the market is just speculation. If I had invested I would consider selling now.
