Standings: How Does Social Effect Standings to Concord?

So I have a high sec alt that ended up with a -10 standings to concord.
(Long story don't ask) This alt gets killed anytime in high sec.
The alt also has Social which seems to give a +5 to standing to concord.
After many NPC's killed the alt now has an effective standing to ccp at -4.4
but is at a real standing of -7.2 and is still unable to fly in even 5 sec systems.

Am I wrong about what Social does?
Is this alt going to have to get a real 0 standing to ever come back to all of high sec?

Is there any other ways to get standing higher to get back to high sec?

EDIT: I'll try to be useful: Check Security Status and don't worry about your standing with CCP (what is this anyways)

Increase in concord standings: mission running, killing rats. Each NPC rat that you kill will increase your standings (BS size rats are the only ones that really matter). There are previous threads addressing this issue btw. They spell out the most efficient manner to raise standings, how to chain belts in low-sec/null, etc.

Oh, and Fast Talk ftw.

The Social skill increases the standings gain (the reward) when you run missions for a corporation. This affects your base standing directly.

The Diplomacy skill increases your effective standing with all hostile corps/factions (those with base standing < 0) by taking your base standing and bumping it by a % of the difference between it and +10.0. The Connections skill does the same for friendly corps/factions (base standing > 0)

However, there are no CONCORD mission agents, so there's no way to gain standing with them. Except maybe running incursions? Not sure on that point. And if that were the case, not clear to me whether Social would boost those standings gained.

Do you mean Security Status? That's entirely different. The only way to increase that is to kill NPC rats. The Fast Talk skill will increase your Security Status gain when killing rats.
