I think he is talking about a dev who said he was going to buff t2 plates to make them worth it , not shure if it was actually implemented though.

I wouldn't say farewell just yet. Yes t2 plates will offer more hp. However, what are the fitting reqs? Many ships are tightly fit and adding in extra cpu/powergrid needed for a t2 plate won't be possible.

yeah, this has been know for a month or so now. lots of people rushed in and bought up all the t2 plates.

its not just the extra pg, they also add more mass. so dont get rid of those rolled plates just yet.

I am foreseeing them becoming like the meta afterburners and microwarp drives. Sure t2 may be better, but you need meta 4 to make it all fit.

Also do they still have increased mass penalty? If so they won't be so nice on cruisers or anything that still needs some mobility. I hope the HP of faction plates is being buffed at the same time to compensate for this (they have lower mass over T1/T2 plates).

first if you want speed/agility you dont armor tank, especially not buffer tank.
T2 plate will go just on BS hulls, no way you goin to fit one on a cruiser and even on BCs you will run in fitting problem and the extra mass on a BS hull will make really a small difference while another HP buff will imbalance even more the buffer tanked BS vs the active repped and between the 2 the active repping armor tank ships are much more in need of a boost than passive armor tank BS which are already at the top.

just to be clear:
a abaddon with 2 T2 plate will go 7m/s slower than with meta4
the geddon speed will drop by 12m/s with 3 plates
and agility on amarr BSs is pretty much irrilevant

the mega speed will drop by 10m/s with 2 plates and 0,2sec more align time, such a big deal

Yes, speed and agility do not matter on most BS + bigger Amarr ships because the mass difference between different types of plates is so small relative to the mass of the ship, but on BC/Cruiser hulls it is more noticeable so high meta/faction plates can be worth looking at for some ships.

i wish they also buffed faction plates...
the agility/speed loss is anoying to say the least and a fair few of my T3 fits dont work with T2 plates :(

So they are not getting buffed? Interesting since all the faction plates are reinforced steel also.

The T2 800mm Plates still have pathetic stats and will probably not be used more then Meta 4 800mm Plates.

Buffer Armor Cruisers will still be flown based on if they can fit a 1600mm Plate. Sad

Damn, and I was all excited that I found 46 1600 RTP in my hanger in Villore.

Don't the T2 1600s take like 75 more PG?

not 100% sure tbh but patch notes only mentioned T2 plates as far as I can tell.

named MWDs are better than t2 in most cases, and you should never use a named afterburner because they are terrible.
