Hello MD World. This is me looking to start my first bond, and I hope it'll be a learning experience as much here on the forums, as it will in-game. Among the thing's I'm most excited about is any criticism, harsh or not, and how I will react... So if you have a question or remark about me, my toon, or the bond itself, go ahead and ask!

Anyways, I've been playing Eve for just under two year's now. I think it was a Massively.Joystiq article that sucked me in. Since then, I've mostly been prone to playing the market and hauling, as well as having "get pew pew'd at" day's, though I mostly trade at station, using a few dedicated people I've met over the past year or so for logistical/hauling purposes.

I've wanted to do fill and complete a bond for some time now. I'll be using the same strategies I currently employ for my intra-regional trading activities that I perform every day, as I'm comfortable with my process, and I feel it works and would like to stress test my activities to see firsthand where any bottleneck's are and how to improve them.

There is no collateral for this bond because I tend to get back to liquid isk every week and I like having the backing to take any good oppurtunities if need be. Plus, I change what I'm actively trading on at least 70% of my items about twice a day and filter through 300 items to make sure I get the best margin I can at any given time.

Also, I'm not giving my API Key to anybody, because I DO do other thing's than trade from time to time and would like to keep those oppurtunities and avenues open for as long as possible. As far as any form of verification, I can provide my EveBoard @ eveboard - Gu1l7y 5p4rk

Am I legit? Only time will tell, but in the meantime you can find a log of the "Price_Check" channel and look back the past few weeks and see that I am routinely viewing market data and have it at the ready. At least that proves I do something on the market right? :p

Anyway's, any payment can be made in-game to this toon "Gu1l7y 5p4rk" in 250m increments. If you do send isk to fill a portion of the bond, notify here that you had sent it so it doesn't get overfilled, and I will confirm here as well.

Summary:
Bond Size: 4 Billion Isk
Spot Size: 250 Million Isk
Collateral: None
Interest: 10%
Start Date: As soon as all spots have been filled and confirmed
Duration: 30 Days unless it matures sooner

The thread will be updated as the bond is in progress for those that would like to watch and talk\bash\critique.

Who would trust a player who got his main banned? -Anybody whose went through a divorce, had his credit card cancelled, and all the recent charges disputed, day's after buying gametime....

Who would trust a player who claims to have played for 2 years but has no character that is older than just over a year? -Anyone who can recognize that I not Gu1l7y 5p4rk has played for "roughly" 2 years.

Who would trust a player with an alt called "Icanhazinfiltrate"? -You make an alt for only Amarr order modifications and market log exports, and you tell me how much time and effort you would put into it's name that will never get used. Lol

Who would trust a player whose employment history is full of corporations he only stayed 2-5 days in? -If you take into account that I've only been in a few that weren't created by myself....

Who would trust a player who has played for over a year but pretends to be a complete newbie? -You ever wonder what it was like when you first started playing? Well that day I wondered that, and had me some space station make believe...

Who would trust a player who spams trade window scams? -Somebody that would recognize that they were legit, below market, and justifiable spams. Plus spam or not, plex below market is something quite a few people would jump on, so it was completely... "Spammable."

Who would trust a player who tries to sell 20m ISK for 5$ (!) and uses his eve character's name to advertise the offer? -I would imagine you would sell your imagination on that site, if you haven't already.

Regardless that was a nice onslaught, even if a little narrow-minded and marginally out of context.

I'll try to say this nicely as most won't.

Too large an ammount of isk for a first time bond,

First time bonds REALLY need collateral.

That first post really shot you in the balls, so I'd wager anyone who was tempted to risk it, has now ran in the other direction.

Hi.. welcome to MD =]

Too high, no transparency, too restrictive in conditions, and shady past without any real valid justifications (merely 'look over there' and throwback tactics).

I would almost recommend this for C&P, but it's failing at the 'C' part.

If my bond amount is too high, I would be willing to settle on different terms if they weren't too far from what we have currently. If anyone want's to cut it in half, or do 1-1.5 for two weeks for the same percentage.

As far as any real valid justifications, a few of the allegations were slightly out of context, but criticism is partly what I wanted. Just goes to show that my post wasn't quite as informative as it could have been.

I'm still all ears for any more points to be made, or anybody that might like to invest that might have any concerns or need additional information.

Plus, I wouldn't mind running a smaller bond. I know I can handle my original terms quite well, but I can take steps.

A note:

I've seen a lot of people post bonds (which usually get shot down) who claim they do not want to release API keys due to "someone will steal my stuffs!" claims. In truth, the people who are looking to invest do not have the time to replicate what it is you are doing. Hence why we invest, rather than do it ourselves. Likewise the trusted parties for performing audits are doing well enough without encroaching on whatever super-special-high-speed tradeskills you have.

Then comes the simple fact that you are probably not doing anything earthshattering or new.

I've worked with one investor to keep things tight-lipped (communication and disclosure of various activities via in-game mail rather than forums) but at least said person was willing to disclose data for the sake of instilling trust and offering validation that what I had invested was being put to work.

If the above posts by Pinkerton were out of context, why not help bring context to them rather than simply brush them aside?

Cutting it in half won't magically make investors jump and sink their teeth in. Collateral will. Either that or really clear up the smoke from the fires burning already and try to settle the unease caused by them.

I'm pretty sure I've cleared up any smoke from the fires but to summarize:

Banned Main: Wife takes credit card, denies any recent transactions, and the gametime I had just bought was disputed. Cleared.

Playtime: When anybody say's "I've played Eve for about xx years..." I would assume that they might have had multiple toons across multiple accounts, and would expect that xx to be a cumulative number.

Suspicious Alt: The alt needed a name to perform TWO duties... so I thought of a random name. Sorry it wasn't iamhonesttoon....

Employment: I joined a corp or two, and didn't really know what I was doing back then, or what I wanted to do, and backed out. Since then it's mainly been my own corps, one of which was a sucessful mining operation for some time.

Newbie: Read an article about Eve that was referring in retrospect what it was like when they first started, and how harsh people can be, and figured I'd see if I could get that again.

Trade Spam: It was a legit trade, one that I knew people would be interested in, for a plex that was below market value, because I wasn't liquid at the time and had better oppurtunities at the time. So I opted to get rid of it, so I wouldn't miss out on better things.

Isk for 5: Well smite me for being curious. One of the biggest pitfalls in Eve would be seeing what reaction I would get in my gigantic rmt operations.

Anyway's, unless there's anything else, I don't know how much clearer I can get.

couldnt agree more. there is really nothing to risk by revealing apis to an auditor. even if they 'spill the beans', it wouldnt have any affect. hubs like jita can (and do) absorb new traders and if you have a niche hub, then the arrival of new traders will crash the market and they will soon leave.
