so new destroyer... and more ships...

I flew in a Br1ck fleet once when I was newer back when NC was thing and an Alliance I was in moved to Null as one of their pets. I was in a Drake gang just when they were gain popularity and some guy was in a Raven. I wonder, morale or just dumb.

We were being chased by a Solar Mael Gang that snagged him off a gate. I think I died 4 ships later in the fight when the FC ordered a warpout and a HIC lit a bubble and 90% warp speed and snagged me and like 4 other guys.

I should move back to Null it was pretty fun.

I would like there to be the option of detonating the ammo and engines on your ship to do splash damage to other ships within a certain range. This would allow for new fleet tactics and would prevent blobbing.

Thinking like a 1 min timer to self-destruct / cargo hold detonation... or maybe replace bumping with ramming.

Signatures should be used responsibly...

One of each ship-line for each of the main classes (frigate, cruiser, battleship.) Really that'd mean ...

1 Combat (tank/damage) frigate, cruiser, and battleship (with 2 T2 version, for each specialty)
1 Attack (damage/speed) frigate, cruiser, and battleship (with 2 T2 versions, for each specialty)
1 Electronic Warfare frigate, cruiser, and battleship (with 2 T2 versions, for each specialty ... not sure what to do about Caldari here)
1 Logistics frigate, cruiser, and battleship (with 2 T2 versions, for each specialty)
1 Scout/Science (probes, analyzer/codebreaker) frigate, cruiser, and battleship (with 2 T2 versions, for each specialty)

Destroyers and battlecruisers would be damage support, countering the class directly below them like we have now (destroyer counters frigate, battlecruiser counters cruiser.) They should be able to annihilate the class directly below them at the cost of being extremely vulnerable to the class directly above them. Then have a second version of each of them that has command bonuses (that would ideally work only on grid.)

Then we need small, medium, and large mining vessels. The tank/cargo/yield format works here as well, but I'd change one thing. There should only be 1 T1 version of each of these. It would do each of the above passably well. The T2 versions would be specialized towards one or the other.

Then we need transportation ships, again in small, medium, and large. It'd be similar to the mining vessels but the specialties are speed/defense/cargo.

Capital ships? Turn'em into giant, mobile stations. They could act as mobile forward operating bases, essentially.

Whether or not you win the game matters not.  It's if you bought it.

I would fall back to my long desired dedicated ORE gas harvester.. but CCP is removing all dedicated roles from barges... so whats the point now...?

Light Deployment Carriers - can fit 2 battleships + noctis, or a battleship and some smaller ships in the maintenance bay. can use normaly gates. can only deploy 5 fighters, cannot enter level 4 (or lower) missions, can tank level 5 missions. Standard carrier jump drive. decent corp hangar. cannot fit triage

making it easy to pick up and move between mission hubs when you want



Light Attack Carrier - basically MarVL's idea. Can control up to 10 fighters, and can also deploy normal drones. little to no ship maint or corporate hangar bays. 20% jump drive range bonus per skill level. Bad at remote rep. cannot fit triage module


Command Carrier/Logistics Carrier - the current carriers.

Tedium and difficulty are not the same thing, if you don't realize this then STFU about game design.

Yep, or simply call them Heavy Bombers.

Tanky, if a little slow, non-cloaking.
Give them enough high slots to mounts some small weapons to fight back against frigates while on their necessary bombing runs.

Anti-cloak ships would be awesome and seem to fit in well within the game design. Perhaps some sort of EMP burst that deactivates cloaking devices within x km.. and of course a skill/boosters/implants to boost the range. It would need to have a pretty significant range to be useful, though. And it would be unfortunate if it was able to assist gate campers in making sure there is absolutely no way for people to use the MWD/cloak maneuver to escape gate camps. The last thing we need is to put anything in that makes gate camping more effective.

Frigates = got plenty
Destroyers = weak selection, getting better!
Cruisers = Simply Oozing with them
BCs = tier 2 and 3 are a little short on variants.
BS = Better than BCs anyway

So what we are really short of now are Capital sized ships ... but just 'what' purpose should they solve?

I'd like to see 'carriers' re-worked to hauling ships around the battles theaters (so pods can go pick up a new ship and pew pew), with far larger hit-points and tanks, but have dedicated Logistic caps to take those bonuses from them (thus having a reason for a new set of caps).

But, hey lets re-balance what we have first. Understand that not everyone here has well over 100 mill skill points, so lower levels first :-)
