About to finish Orca training, best way to make isk?

Hey all, I know already this is a rather stupid question that most likely gets asked a few hundred times weekly. Anyways my hauler character is going to be ready to use in Orca in about 16 minutes of training ((And a 47 million ISK book.)) The issue is i'm living as a miner, plex to plex across three accounts. Anyone have any money making tips to help me get this Orca purchased and fielded as fast as possible?

Train all the fleet boosting skills and train for t2 links.. then use your orca to haul and boost. If you didn't alreaady have a plan why did you train for it?

  - remove the cloaked from local; free intel is the real problem, not  "afk" cloaking -

Mine just a little bit more, a little safer and a little smarter, 10-20M at a time, or maybe 10-20M of minerals at a time, slowly just transfer the ISK to the character... keep saving up slowly, there is no fast magic way to just make an orca Appear, although there is a magic way to make em disappear, so make sure you over-tank it until you feel safe enough to under-tank little by little.

Eventually you will see, 100, the 300 the 500 the 800M isk appear in your little savings on that character, you can do it.

Once you have that orca boost, plan on starting 1-3 more accounts train some more miners and have your own little boosted fleet in some hulks rip belts apart like there's no tomorrow.

Being efficient in an orca takes a lot of efforts after you can sit on it. Have you already planned to train:

Mining Foreman 5
Cybernetics 5
Leadership 5
Wing Command at-your-choice (eventually 5 for Fleet Command)
Mining Director 5
Warfare Link Specialist 5
Industrial Command Ship 4 (at least)
Armored/Information/Siege/Skirmish Warfare 5

Question

Beside that you should also consider if to join a 0.0 corp or to keep on mining on your own in highsec.

I just use my orca alt to follow my two mains around on backwater explore roams, hauling loot, ammo, and extra cruisers, assault frigs, and a salvaging destroyer so I can tackle whatever explore sites I come across. It may not make a lot of money by itself, but it saves a lot of time and hassle, making it worth the investment to me.

My Orca toon has:
Industrial command V
Mining director V
Mining foreman V
Siege warfare specialist V
Cybernetics V
Warfare link specialist V
Wing command IV (soon to be V though)
Has the implant (Mining foreman mind link)
And between my two mining alts I can make about 60m/hour, I can plex for all three of my accounts this way.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

Thanks guys I do appreciate the information it looks like i'm going to need to run a bunch of mining ops between my accounts. =D

Also I really like the info on proper builds for the Orca

Ill chalk my quick training and unpreparedness up to childish excitement XD

Props to you for enjoying mining, our species is far too small in number.

If you are in a corp with other miners, there is a good chance that there is another person that has a better orca boost then you do. haul for them in your orca, it makes life really easy for everyone involved, as the miners never lose bonuses and you can haul enough that the boosting orca never gets full.

if you are mininig in a corp where you are the best orca mining boost, train up those skills and be the best booster you can be. mindlinks and everything make for much more productive mining operations.
If you are not in a corp that mines at all, or are more often "solo" mining, using the orca to haul for miners is a good way to go, if the orca pilot can haul, then sometimes it is just as profitable to can mine with all three accounts then swap to the orca to pick up everything. thee accounts is the break even for max skilled hulk mining and orca use, so if you dont have max skilled hulks, you may want to swap out at stations to mine more.

although , having the orca no matter what the boosts in belt can be a lot safer for the hulks and your ore. its a whole lot simpler to manage too.

as to buying the orca, saving a little at a time, is good but make sure that it is worthwhile to buy at the current prices. do a bit of market research to see if the build cost in minerals is comprable to the sale price. you may be able to save some minerals and build it yourself with contract bpc a lot cheaper then buying one built. I dont know if you have the production skills necessary, but i believe that some of the older ship suppliers will discount prices for minerals delivered.

Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

I'm still rather new in my corp so I don't know how deep our mining goes. But I like the idea of being a booster for my allies.
