I have just re-activated my account, and I see they have done away with Learning skills. Other than implants is there any way to increase my SP per hour?

Thanks!

You should have a limited amount of remaps that will allow you to change your attributes.

learning skills were removed, but your attributes are all at "max" (i.e. all learning skills to 5).

Remaps and implants are available to increase your attributes as necessary. NOTE you only get 1 remap per year (plus any "freebies" you may have, such as from a CCP birthday present or a Christmas present).

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Also note that you got back all SP you had in learning skills, and can use them immediately to any skill you want (or save for later).

Also if you did have max learning skills, then your current max learning speed will be slightly smaller (but since you did get SP back, it would take several years for you to have less SP than with old system.)

A quick note on remaps:

There are 2 distinct kinds of remaps - regular and bonus.
Both do the same thing, allow you to shuffle around 14 attribute points to optimise training in certain categories.

If you have any normal remaps available, they will always be used up in preference over bonus remaps, when you remap your attributes.

If your normal remaps count reaches 0, that is you use all of your normal remaps, a 365 day timer starts after which you receive a normal remap.

If your normal remap counter is 1 or higher, the timer does not start; you only get a normal remap 365 days after you use your last remaining one.

Bonus remaps are not awarded on a timer, but are given out as special gifts for certain events, e.g. the winter holidays.
There is no way to predict if another bonus remap will be granted so don't count on it unless it's officially announced.

If you have 0 normal remaps, and you go to remap your attributes again, one of your bonus remaps will be used.
Using a bonus remap does not affect/pause/reset the normal remap timer - if you had 8 months remaining for another normal remap, and used a bonus remap, the normal timer would still be at 8 months and counting.

As for how else to increase skill training, besides implants and remaps there is also the cerebral accelerator booster - however these were only given out for box sets and special events so they are quite rare, and therefore, relatively expensive. Note also that the cerebral accelerator expires once the character's age is over 35 days, so it cannot be used on older characters.

A quick note on remaps:

This is the clearest I have seen this explained. When I first started I was also confused at how annual and bonus worked together. I was under the impression that the (bonus) remap counter included the annual, and thought that the countdown began when all your remaps were used.

Had I understood the process I would have remapped in the first few weeks to the EVEMon recommended Int/Perc heavy core favored map to start the countdown early and get a boost towards a well rounded rookie. Instead I decided to ration my remaps so I could go 100% on Int/Mem with my first remap and switch mid year to 100% Perc/Wil with what I thought was my only other remap.

At this point I am getting close to 4m SP (emphasis on the Perc/Will) and will do the above plan, and I the amount of days wasted in not doing a remap yet hasn't been too significant. Since I have one more map than I thought I am considering spending the first year (annual and bonus 1) split 9 months in Int/Mem and 3 months for drones. I will then use the second annual (a little over a year from now) for Perc/Will and maybe use my second bonus (a brief dabble in industry or cha skills?) once I get my gunnery and ship skills to a decent level closer to 2 years from now. This means that I will be stuck for a year with BC and BS skill at a mere level 3 (might do 4) but that is fine since I primarily pilot my Viator. The trade off is to have a very focused plan from here on.

How remapping works (especially separation between annual and bonus remaps) was changed early this year, and some guides might still talk about old rules.
