The game is officially ruined FOREVER, finding missile range was previously rather mundane twelve step process that extended gameplay, and instilled the excitement of properly filing a Federal IT-0140ez from. But that wasn't good enough for them, they took it too far we may now simply mouse over the module in question.

Now newbie pilots will be murdering players with 100m skill points left and right because CCP is catering to the NEW players, when will this money driven madness end?

Previously required a stunningly simple twelve (12) step process, general understanding game mechanics, and a sense of familiarity with the UI. This procedure was EASILY explained in a forty-five (45) minute long E-UNI class, what is E-UNI going to do now teach them to boil eggs?

1) Open Ship fittings.
2) Right Click on module
3) Show info
4) Select Attributes Tab
5) Scroll down to stats
6) Open calculator
7) Copy index for Maximum flight time
8) Paste into calculator
9) Press multiply
10) Copy Flight Velocity
11) Paste into calculator
12) Press Enter

You DO know what you can hover your mouse over the missile launcher on the tactical overlay and see how far your missile reaches, right?
Same for smartbombs, tractor beams, neuts, scrams, etc. etc.
Even bombs.

I too am sad about this.

In todays economy everyone is doing it hard, when someone loses a job, it effects whole families, families that need to put food on the table, and give kids lunch money, was anybody thinking about that ?

Wont somebody think of the calculator makers !!!
I'll step up and admit that I am guilty of implementing this change that might affect calculator makers all over. Oops

Incidentally, I am a big fan of calculators, especially the EVE one and I regularly fight off people that want it to die and fix it when it needs some love. So I sincerely hope that it won't ruin the lives of calculator makers, I kind of like my life.

EVE is done for. Game over man, game over.

By the way, since we're already talking, do you want to buy a rifter? I've got the cheapest rifters in Metropolis. If you can find a cheaper rifter, buy it!

You have to suck pretty hard at math to not be able to tell your missile range with the old system in your head.

Open show info, multiply flight time by flight speed, get result, that is your range, close show info.

Ctrl+D, look at the missile range sphere.

New system has a tool tip, BIG DEAL...

It seems that Eve's player base has run out of crap to complain about so they make problems up now.

Inappropriate signature, CCP Phantom.

Think he made it a little too complicated. Easiest way is to con a buddy to race toward something and start shooting him. Once the missiles stop hitting him then you know what the range is. Unless he kills you before hand. Either way its win win.

too lazy to check but last time I used the EVE calculator it was using a (binary) floating point representation instead of decimals which made it basically useless. has this been fixed?

(pretty sure the same issue affects the wallet as I don't know how else I would end up with fractions of an ISK-cent, you never use floats for financial stuff, period)
