Multi-player Mining Ships

I know there are quite a few mining ships available for the players these days and they are getting updated all the time. I think this type of ship could really fill in gaps for large group mining operations without having to bring out every ship in the fleet to do it. The ship would be considered a capital ship or less depending on if it is allowed in high sec space or not.

* Whoever intends to pilot the ship, dictates all navigation, medium slots and low slots and will have to learn the skills required for the ship.
*There would be 4 mining pilot slots on the ship for players to board.
*Each mining slot comes with 2-3 strip mining placements. The players in the mining slots only need skills to use the equipment they are mining with.
*Miners in the slots have no control over the ship other than their strip miners and ability to eject from the ship.
*The ore cargo hold would be pretty large to carry the ore of 4 miners working as one.

This would be a ship that would encourage teamwork and would bring a different aspect to the game without overkill.

Other than that... size, shape and name are whatever people can come up with.

There are reasons that there aren't "multiplayer" ships.

hint --> the database says no.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Even if it got the same yield as each pilot in a hulk, it's a worse idea. It's more expensive, making it a higher priority target. A single ship is easier to catch and tackle than five ships. It would lack the versatile mobility of a group of miners, who could spread out and reach several different parts of a large grav site at once.

Basically, you'll be putting more in the line to get fewer options. Plus there would be massive technical hurdles for making such a ship work.

Yeah CCP tried something similar.

IN short, the hamsters don't like more than one person to a ship.
