I find this new bit of functionality quite useful, but it is often very, very wrong. E.g. I am docked in Jita. Estimated price for an item is 3.8million ISK. I immediately attempt to sell it only to see best buy price of 945 000 and best sell price of 938 000, with many orders on either side. Looking back in the order history, it has not traded at anywere near the estimated price in the last 3 months either.

Clearly the algorithm CCP is using is not based on curren or historical Jita median prices. So my request is this: Give us the option to choose our algorithm, including the option of 'None', to switch the estimation off.

There are a variety of price estimation algorithms that could be used, and user preferences would would differ from situation to situation. Of course the available algorithms may be limited by the reference data used.

So, CCP, the current alogorithm works reasonably well, most of the time. Please implement a few other estimation algorithms and allow us to choose which one we would like active.

bump!

This isk estimation value seriously need reworking, it's like placing a tool that is broken in your garage.
Waste of real estate space on the screen.

My 2 cents.

Peace is the way of my war.

+1, it would be a good tool if it were more accurate. The Isk Value Display is akin to using a nuke where a hand grenade is needed. It's inaccurate and needs a definite fix.

dunno, i've found it to be pretty close. Guess it depends on what you're selling ... though it seems many of the items (T1 mainly, haven't looked with T2) are using baseprice, or something very close thereto.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia
