Doooo ittttt already

Last I heard you guys were talking about not wanting them to totally outclass T2, and thinking along the lines of heat reduction.

So what's the plans devs? Scrapped totally?

Anyway fellow loving players, do you think T3 modules should be implemented at all? Reasons why? Any ideas as to where T3 should go?

I figured a somewhat balanced AC would be along the lines of same stats as T2, but -30% falloff across the board. Same skill reqs except also needs 'Advanced Autocannon Specialisation', a skill that gives -10% heat damage per lvl towards modules requiring it's use.
So same damage and tracking as t2, but a significantly shorter range. Higher heat capacity though so yeh, it's situational.
I think more modules should be situational, I like the idea of not knowing what the other person has fit.

edit: oh and T3 guns get to fire T3 ammo, which would of course be the unreleased T2 ammo, but rebadged. You know, Blaze crystals and such. Maybe as added balance they would be unable to use T2 ammo (but that's probably too harsh a penalty)

There should be a rather awesome pic here

with tiergeddon ship lines happening and new t1 module attempts. They wont be adding new mod tech lvls any time soon.

And t3 is all about flexibility. not being better than t2. Or at least how it should be.
So a t3 turret would fire both short and long rage variants of t2 ammo for that system(blaster, rail) (AC, arty) etc, at the cost of some x factor. Yet making modules capable of swapping such systems is convoluted and more hassle than just changing the gun. So t3 should just stick to hulls, changing bonuses, which makes more sense game wise.
Yet as mentioned above, a bit moot as new mods with new special properties would have a more profound effect.

Wouldn't a T3 mod need to be "modular" to make it T3? Though that could be cool too...

T3 250MM Howitzer

* Heavy Capacity Barrel
+10% Damage
+20% Signature Radius

* Lubricated Gyro
+7.5% Tracking
-30% Optimal Range

* Rapid-Loading Magazine
-50% Reload Time
-50% Charge Capacity

* Plasma-Fed Cooling System
-15% Heat Damage
-40% Falloff

* Proton Reconfiguration Matrix
+20% Damage and Falloff when loaded with Proton S
-15% Damage and Tracking when loaded with anything other than Proton S

Just some random numbers, but its cool idea.

Of course, I weep for the dev that would have to design the new fitting window...

Edit: Could have one bare 'mount' for each class of weapon (Projectile S, M, L), and 5 slots that you could plug the subsystems into. Maybe like:

[Barrel]
Effects damage and projectile size

[Magazine]
Effects reload speed and capacity (Maybe have one allowing for M turrets to use L charges?)

[Gyro]
Effects tracking speed and Optimal/Falloff

[Cooling]
Effects Overheat abilities/attributes (Like increase rof while overheat but take more heat damage - viceversa)

[Aux (Like ammo specialization)]
Unique effects like bonus to certain ammo types

I really like this idea now...

That's why I said T3 modules should be tactical... and countering each other.

Phasing shields countered by phasing missiles and projectiles, automatic point defense guns countered by cloaking missiles and drones, and so on...

T3 rigs I can understand, but t3 equipment will just be too complicated.

Well, with some complication beeing removed by streamlining the ship tiers, I think alittle NEW complication couldn't hurt too much.

Besides, taking T3 completly out of the current game machanics and actually give it new ones (including skills) is what CCP did with T3 ships too...

Ship lines wont be removing complication. As it is trying to make all ships have a valid existence rather than "You want the best battleship, use the top tier one." "Want the best cruiser, use the top tier crusier." "Want the best frig use the top tier frig." And the only reason not to use top tier is for a specific e-war. or price range.

It should hopefully mix up the skies a lot more.

Or most likely all that money they are throwing at Dusk and that Vampires online.

Maybe once those games can fund themselves (or once they flop) then more time and care will be given to Eve.

Sure, and I'm all for that, to be honest... but I simply think that should be extended to modules and weapons too.

Oh, look, a not-so-stealthy stealth "NURFWINMATAR!!111oneone!" thread.

Proper troll-fu is subtle, Young One. Such brazenness will bring only shame and dishonour!

They completely ****** up balance by adding a new TECH ONE module to the game, called Ancillary Shield Booster.

No thanks for T3, if it were up to me I would remove the abominations known as T3 ships as well.

Way too easy to get into, and any 2-3 month old moron can be in one with minimal training.

They are WAY more easy to get into than t2 ships and outclass them by miles.
They are better at giving bonuses than command ships.
They have better tanks than most overtanked battleships/Command ships/HACs/HICs.
They can do about 1100+ DPS when fitted properly, that's more than most battleships except Machariel and Vindicator and Nightmare.
They can go as fast as interceptors.
They warp cloaked.
They are immune to warp disruptor bubbles if set up that way.
They outclass Force Recons in every single way.
And so on and so forth.

**** T3, it should take 2-3-4 times longer to get into one than t2 ships, yet it takes 90% less time and effort, thus leading to everyone and their mother's stupid 4 million SP alt to have a Tengu and farm **** 24/7.

Inappropriate signature, CCP Phantom.

T3 ammo that has a chance to set the target on fire, and cause additional e-war effects?

No. T3 is a ship class thing. We already have deadspace and officer mods which have a higher meta then T2!!!
