Proposal -- Supercap Killer: T3 Role

What if... rather than making Supercaps useless... CCP instead made them uniquely vulnerable to a new fun ship?

It has been proposed before -- a cap killer ship. Perhaps now is the time to revisit that.

I propose a ship that can only fit a single cap-killer gun (think XL Size).. with some sort of Alpha/DPS bonus to that gun; enough of a bonus that said ship.. in a mid-size group (say 20) could easily kill a supercap in a few minutes.

But such ship fit as a supercap killer would have little to no offense against regular subcaps. Maybe just a small 25m drone bay.

Combine the introduction of this ship with a *modest* nerf to supers (fix logoffski, smaller drone bays). Then, as a T3 ship (read, hard to hit) a fleet of these new ships viable against a cap ship blob.

The one problem: such ships would obsolete dreads if they could hit structures. They would need some sort of role limiter that only allows them to target ships, not structures. (Something like... they can only lock their big guns on a jump drive heat signature or some such....)

This is, I hope, an example of a more creative, more constructive approach to the NERF NERF NERF HERP DERP approach that CCP is looking at now.

No, no, no.

Supercaps will be battlefields in Dust 514 where you can fight for maintaining or destroying the ship.

Think of the mom hitting the station. It'll be ozom!
