NEW LOGO DESIGN < VIEWS?

Hey all been working on this new logo for my corp for a couple of days, let me know what you think!,

It's shiny, but it's very generic. You could put almost any corp name in the logo and it would be ok. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's not taking full advantage of the interesting corp name and trying to make something unique and memorable. The logo doesn't really in any way say rocket or surgery and the surgery part of the name might not be readable or visible at all, if and when you need to shrink the image.

Logo does not represent the corp name and since you didn't provide any description about the corp (ethos, vision, mission, etc), I'm guessing it doesn't represent the corp very well either seeing the design is very neon-y plain and generic. It's catchy though, but that's about it.

It looks more like a banner then a logo, it's not bad and it's not great... i like the text, but i don't like that background.

I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous.

But since the name of corp is rocket, don't you think it should at least have an image of a troll doll riding a hotdog?

It has a desktop wallpaper feeling to it.

A logo would be a iconic symbol of sorts. Something simple that represents.

A logo can be the name of the corp.. in this case the type style and the name have become the whole logo. While I prefer a more symbolic type logos, this one does work fine. I hate to say it because I'm loath to give them a compliment but Goons have a pretty good logo as does Razor.. I also like PL and Eve Engineers logos.

I like the image, it is nicely done.

To avoid comments such like "nooo, it's not a logo", you can first link the plain logo design (simplified black/white or color logo) and then an image like you linked now, showing how you can use the logo design in "end products", such as the target corporation's website and forums.

You can see pretty complicated logo designs nowadays, but I still think the best logo is simple and somehow "clever". It needs to work in different medias and in different sizes. The word "SURGERY" won't be visible when you use the logo in small scale, for example. You seem to have potential in logo design, since this one looks clean and polished and you have put a thought in it, so don't give up yet!

Plain typography makes great logos. It's not necessary to use any rocket icons here, in my opinion. I have to admit that I would use rockets or elements behind it, fire, explosion, science... to make an icon, it's just too tasty opportunity.
