I'm sure this has been posted recently and I just haven't looked hard enough.

- But what is the status of Dust being on Tranquility?
- Or maybe even Singularity?

They could tell you, but it's covered by NDA, so they'd have to kill you.

Dust is still in Beta, and isn't yet connected to EVE as far as I know.

I still don't understand how DUST is going to be and stay relevant to EVE. For all I know, the only thing linking EVE and DUST is what's going on on planets. And the only thing going on on planets right now is PI (Planetary Interaction).

PI is an extremely bland and repetitive feature. Even those who engage in it are hardly excited about it. They do it to make some easy ISK, but I've never talked to someone who logs into EVE because he loves doing PI.

So, will the only reason to interact with DUST players really be that one wants to be able to do PI? If so, how can anyone believe this is going to work? Shocked

Can't hold the system if you can't hold the planets :)

One option they got is to let Dust players (or NPC corps) to sell Dust item BPOs in Eve market which would allow us to manufacture them and then resell back to Dust players. Tanks and other Dust combat vehicles probably are made of PI resources... Well, they could also implement items to Dust that require asteroid/moon minerals in manufacturing process so we'd have to sell those resources to Dust players. Implants and boosters might be another things in market that could work both ways.

PI probably requires overhaul with Dust - how else are you going to plant those planetary guns and other protective elements into your PI colony?

And if Dust players can conquer planets and if that leads to SOV changes, your alliance is better to have their own Dust mercs division to defend their planets.

Once all planet types are included to Dust, the next logical step is to add fighting on the moons' surface (low gravity environments bring new tactical element to combat).

That would defeat the earlier promise that 'Dust and Eve doesn't require the other", if Eve player's cannot gain sovereignty or lose sov to force outside of Eve Online itself then we have serious problem as the underpopulated PS3 game will hamper those wishing to play Eve.

My opinion- not even CCP has a clue how to connect Dust514 and Eve in a long term sense beyond us cash rich Eve players paying Dustie Mercs to grief other Eve players. Effectively highsec ganking Command Centers, because the person doing the hiring will probably not have to risk anything other than what he pays the mercs.

So an alliance will lose sov when they don't have DUST mercs or their mercs lose some fights against other mercs? I guess that could work.

What happens if one party loses all the shooter battles but wins all the space battles? And what happens if there are not enough DUST mercs around to capture anything? After all, there are a lot of planets in EVE and DUST will be just a new game with few players. Will Goons have to buy their members PS3's to make them start playing DUST?

I wonder if having DUST mercs along will be necessary to take any systems or only if the other side also has mercs?
