then the engineer says "alright, here's a new design that is far more resilient but it can't mine much and well we're going to have to put a half-billion price tag on it because R&D ain't free"

also lol you think you buy hulks from npcs

You mean you haven't yet shuttled on down to your local ORE dealer to test pilot the new Skiff SCE (Super Cyno Edition)?

Lore-wise, having ships change to match the market makes sense. The OP and the barge fairy thread are whining about cheese being moved. Well, cheese gets moved.

I don't think he "dodged" anything...I think he put the facts right in your face. Stuck it right in. In fact, one could say that you and all of the "weak-tanked trolls" in this thread got ganked. Should have fit a damage control 2 on your pie hole.

Merely regurgitating the new descriptions is not an explanation for anything.

LoL

So ever ship that is more resilient is not designed for High Sec. Like saying an SUV is designed for off road so you should not drive it on roads.

The guys who buy the ship decide what it is intended for.

So, I just bought a Sabre, I intend to use it to bubble warbears camping the Rens undock

edit: I thought you said "The guys who buy the ship decide what it is intended for.", dictor bubbles can't be used outside of 0.0, you lied

He said ship, not mod. You can fly your saber in hi sec, no one is stopping you. You should have suggested a carrier or dread to make your point.

so I'm choosing to read this as "disable strip miners in highsec"

Exhumers are not the only ships that use strip miners and T1 barges have no reference to being intended for deep space usage on TQ or sisi.

There are laws against using certain weapons, there are no laws against using these ships.

Perhaps if anyone who made the law agreed with the OP that they were Null Sec exclusive ships there would be but there isn't. Check Mate.

Many miners did not tank their Hulks for a simple reason: Tanking a piece of tissue paper leaves you with a slightly stronger piece of tissue paper. If the gankers come for you, you still die. Best to have a cheap fit, maximize the yield, and hope you make enough money before it dies.

The new stats means it actually makes sense to add a tank. So many now will.

That. 25k or so EHP on my alts Hulk was just not enough reason to tank one. Given their price, lack of tank and the love of ganking them I actually never bought one at all until I got him out to 0.0.
A new gas ship could freshen up the industry but how am I supposed to roleplay a miner, out on the limits of civilised space, bashing my ship with giant wrenches to keep it going and chewing on ore, evading space pirates if my ship is all heavily tanked.

It's not meant to be a combat vessel, a Thrasher is. Hulks also have a far superior tank to a Thrasher.
Only if you fit one and high sec miners who feel that they should never be able to die don't feel it is necessary to actually fit the tank that stops them from dieing. . .

i'm mocking everybody who whines about the barges getting EHP buffs, and anybody who whines about the role changes of the barges. i think i'm pretty much being an equal opportunity mocker of crybabies.

Tedium and difficulty are not the same thing, if you don't realize this then STFU about game design.

Might be a troll? Either way:

I think it's interesting you bring up a lore-based reason why exhumers should or should not be in a certain place.

(Theory-crafting ahoy! -->) Balance always has to take priority. You already have better minerals in low and null. If exhumers could only be used there, you'd skew the mineral economy in that direction exponentially, which is much harder to design around than a linear progression of benefits.

On a side note, and not aimed at the OP, I think it's kind of funny how miner status went from "Er... you find that fun? Okay..." to "YOUR CHOSEN PLAY-STYLE IN A VIDEO GAME DIRECTLY REFLECTS YOUR DEFICIENCIES AS A PERSON." Gank-whines aside...

ROFL

ok by that reasoning you can put guns on a Rorq and go kick someones ass because you decide what the ships does. All those role bonuses and skill effects are just suggestions.

Evolution. Adapt or die.

As for the phrase 'deep space', I can interpret that to mean anything over 1 AU from any major stellar structure.

The only evidence of Lady Spank ganking Hulks in that thread is coming from Lady Spank. I don't trust Lady Spank, so I'm going to ignore your post.

So it is fine, if Combat Pilots can use shiny T2/3 stuff in highsec and get their shiny ships buffed ... sorry, rebalanced ...
but it is NOT fine, if other professions like Miners and Industrials get their ships reBALANCED?

All I see is DEEP SPACE ... I can't find any LOW SECURE SPACE or SERO SECURE SPACE!
Deep Space == ANYTHING outside of planetary atmospher!

In addition for most Miners high sec is FAR more dangures (and deeper) then low/null sec!!

Why the hell can't I fitt capital repairs or shield booster on an Orca ... it's an CAPITAL ship!

srsly Spank, the quality of your trolling is in serious decline. It's almost like you don't give a **** one way or the other. That's the secret of trolling. You have to care. C'mon. Get it together. What happened to Hydra? You guys are pathetic these days. Did you even compete in AT?
