I am bored - what is the most fun piracy related thing to do in eve?

Hi,

I have been doing missions, mining & incursions across 2 accounts on and off since 2004.

Since I am still partially a care bear I want to keep my main with all round hi sec status but this alt can go -10 for all I care.

Being an outlaw comes across as being the most fun profession so my question to you is what can I do that is actually fun and not a grind.

I tried FW but that was too similar to missions plus the PVP I was involved in was nothing to write home about.

I tried some solo PVP and bullied a few minors in high sec but whenever I loot from peoples cans they warp off and never return Cry.

I thought about training up probing more and going after mission runners loot but in high sec it will only be lvl 4 mission runners, would that even be worth my time?

Any suggestions are welcome and I am willing to wait a month or 2 to train up whatever skills I need for this. I also dont mind going to low/null sec and I have about 2 bill to burn on ship losses so thats not an issue too.

I recently got another account through CCP's power of 2 deal so I could in fact dual box PVP/Pirate/thief etc

Bump miners. It's almost as much fun as suicide ganking but a lot less work and the tears are pretty much the same. (we even get our own whine threads)

Live in highsec as -10.

Most dangerous thing you can do.
There's no cloaking, you're FreeForAll, faction police comes after you.

That's fun ! :D

(plus: stop using alts, haul stuff yourself)

announce in jita local you are giving away a free CNR, that you will eject from it and whoever gets into it wins it.

Then when everyone is hugging your ship in pods, let the smart bombs go and tears flow.

Thats got to be the most fun.

Do people still fall for that? I will give it a try if they do but I was thinking more of a career path.

Losing a CNR everyday to Concord is not something anyone can afford lol

That's where you're wrong. There are plenty of people with enough isk to do whatever the hell it is they want...such as that.

I believe you are talking about the tungsten plates laying on the wreck of the NPC that the mission runner killed. But that's not the loot that a proper ninja should be after. What you want to loot is the 1.5 billion Draclira's Modified Large Armor Repairer. You'll find it inside the wreck of the mission runner after you kill said runner.

You don't need a lot of probing skills. Marauders have huge signature radius and weak sensor strength, ending up with a sig/sensor ratio as big as a freaking carrier:

Megathron: 400/21 = 19.04
Kronos: 500/13 = 38.46 <---LOL
Thanatos: 2960/76 = 38.94

If you decide to go this route, a remote repping alt or a gang-boosting alt would be more desirable than a perfect probing alt.

Now this is more like it.

The thing is are you referring to lowsec mission runners or the high sec ones?

If you mean high sec surely someone who has just spent 1 bill on their mission running ship wont fire upon me when I loot their cans (enabling me to commit murder without Concords interference ).

On my main as a highsec carebear mission runner will never fire upon a ninja in a mission as I know that thats what he/she could be banking on.

You'd be surprised how many stupid runners there are who will fire.

O.k this definitely sounds like fun.

since marauders do ridiculous damage and mad tank would it be best I go for a Falcon & pilgrim dual box so they cant target or tank me?

Or shall I go down the gang-boosting road?

Remember the part about the Marauder's weak sensor strength? You don't need a falcon, really. I tell you, Marauder's are CCP's troll to mission runners.

Remember that you'll also get help from the rats. I usually start with a bait ship -- not many people will fire on an obvious pvp ship, but something that's cheap if you lose it and can be popped with one salvo is a lot more tempting of a target.

And yes, there are that stupid mission runners.

I would love to know what went down there,

Correct me if I am wrong but he must have shot at all 3 ninjas for them to be able to gank him without concord getting involved right?

Or is the rule "shoot someone in fleet, the whole fleet can shoot back?"

If thats the case I am starting this tonight lol

I recently started a noob alt for can flipping with the new super incursus and i have had some of my favourite fights ever. Also came across a cnr wreck in a mission with 2 bil of loot in it, that was lol.

Killing stupid mission runners in highsec is a great way to make good isk and still get plenty of tears. The trick is to go into their mission with a small bait ship (IE: a probe) that has a salvager, afterburner, and ship scanner on it. Have an alt (or your main) scan down the mission runner with probes.

Once you have them scanned down, warp in your bait ship and buzz around them for a bit, Ship scan them to see their resist holes and what their tank is like. Slowly progress into salving their expensive wrecks and looting them. If possible try and steal a crucial mission item (militants or the damsil). Keep up your transversal on your target by orbiting them with your afterburner on, this will keep them from being able to 1 shot your ship. If you play it right, they will aggress your ship. Keep in mind that not all targets will shoot you and that some will bring friends to come help them. You could always use a neutral alt for a little "encouragement", its amazing how stupid some people can be if you tell them to do something.

After you have agro, immediately warp to station and grab your PVP ship. I find that a standard 425mm AC fit shield nano hurricane with nutes works best for popping mission runners since you have high DPS, neuts, and variable damage types. If you got the skills and the isk, the Sleipnir also works very well. Make sure you have a Warp disrupter instead of a scrambler, that increases your chance of being able to nab the target before he trys to warp. Also, make sure you have all types of ammo in your cargohold (RF EMP, RF Phased, RF Fusion, Hail, Barrage) Once you dock, Immediately reship to your PVP ship, don't waste any time sitting in station, have your ship ready to go beforehand.

When your on your way back to the targets mission, load the right type of ammo to hit the targets lowest resistance hole (this usually will be the opposite damage type of the rats in the mission). This will allow you to inflict as much damage as possible and overrun their active tank. If its a battleship, make sure to orbit at close range so their guns can't hit you. If your having trouble breaking the runners tank, keep on them and let your neuts do some work, then hit them with a burst of overheated weapons. With a little bit of luck, you should be able to nab quite expensive retards.

For the most part, you should not need any neural logi when doing this. Most carebears are nowhere near equipped to handle your PVP ship. From your ship scanning, you should be able to tell if the target has a web/scram or a disrupter. The most effective use of an alt would be a Skirmish command loki. The extra warp disruption range (up to 43km with maxed skills) often can mean the difference between catching the target or loosing him. Good luck any happy hunting!

Join a corp, then go on a ganking spree or maybe hold a member or two hostage and demand a ransom. There's PLENTY of naive highsec corps out there who don't run background checks of any sort.

Concord will NOT intervene because they're corpmates and corpmates are allowed to gank and pod each other freely without consequence.

I've barely started this hobby, but I've already killed 2 Orcas, 2 Pods, a Rattlesnake, a Dominix Navy Issue, a Hulk and a Drake and more to come. I almost nabbed a freighter yesterday, but I misjudged his autopilot course and missed him.

Had one guy so enraged after I killed his Orca that he tried to gank me in a Drake after I quit corp. Concord made quick work of his Drake. No killmail for that unfortunately. Lots of laughs and victim raging.

Lots of fun and you'll never run out of targets so long as there's stupid CEOs out there (which is also infinite). See my blog below for lulz.

In the words of the boys from Suddenly Ninjas:

"Always bet on stupid!"

(For a game that's supposed to be as "elite/old-school orientated" as this one, you'd be amazed at just how many PLEX-fund-baby idiots there are out there.)

And if you don't mind nuking your sec-status, then give sui-ganking a try (I think that I shall be rolling a new character soon just for this purpose).

It's far from what I would call "skilled PvP," but Gods, it's freaking hilarious.

URP-SPLOSION TYME NAOW!!

Star Wars: the Old Republic may not be EVE. But I'll take the sound of dual blaster-pistols over "NURVV CLAOKING NAOW!!!11oneone!!" any day of the week.
