Left the basement in the last couple years? Everyone has a tablet. Even poor people. they have the kindle fire. Serious around income tax time(US) everyone in the hood bought a kindle. Ipads still rule my area, but I still all kinds when I'm out and about.

*edit

Last year at refund time everyone in the hood bought a netbook. now they all got tablets. wonder what happened to all those netbooks.

I personally know only 2 people that have tablets, and both of them got theirs from their employers. No one else I know would be dumb enough to waste their hard earned cash on a super-sized smartphone. Everyone I know has a desktop for home, a laptop for away from home and a smart phone for everyday out of the house use.

I guess things are different down at the mill. Here in the big city everyone has a desktop, smartphone tablet, laptop. Few of us bother with the laptop since we got tablets. but we have them collecting dust.

I bought a freezer with a touch sensitive screen with proprietary OS that has several functions such as automatically ordering stuff when it runs low, and i demand that CCP makes EVE compatible with it!

I can't wait to be able to play EVE on my freezer! It will be so awesome!!

The ARM architecture makes porting to android pretty much impossible.
You should have waited for a windows 8 phone/tablet.
They'll run The EVE client natively.

No they won't. Windows 8 may support the ARM architecture, that doesn't mean the EVE client will natively run on it.

Windows 8 tablets won't be running on ARM. Those will be called Windows RT tablets.

Windows 8 is confirmed compatible with Eve.
Windows RT is confirmed incompatible.

True story.

My question is, will the Win8 Pro tablets run it well? I've heard they'll run Civ 5, so... take that how you will.

From what I understand they should be able to, from a sheer horsepower perspective they will be able to ouitperform anything currently on the market, to my understanding at least. I believe you will likely be able to run eve on at least low settings, though all this is pretty much heresay until they are released.

I am talking about the the Pro tablets, the RT tablets that will be released in a month or two are more along the lines of the current ipad and android tablets. If I remember right the Win8 Pro tablets will not be released until January next year.

That Microsofts Surface Pro will have quad i5 @ 1.6GHz... That is enough to run EVE, but if CCP ever makes the tablet client, it´s obvious that they will have to bring us far more lighter graphics.

But, I wouldn´t mind having less eye candy. TBH I would play eve now even with PRE-TRINITY graphics Blink
