Yes.

Because as I recall, BACON really screwed up local. And that sort of meta gaming wasn't fun one bit.

For those of you who are clueless Bacon was a third party tool that allowed for some serious metagaming advantages it was eventually ruled illegal and no longer used.

And why am I catching up to chribba on likes? That shouldnt be possible?!

Unfortunately there are still programs available that are functionally the same as BACON. That problem was never solved, just more obfuscated.

except those can actually get you banned considering that they can't use log server output (which doesn't show new players in local, IIRC)

Yep. Pretty sure all of that stuff requires python injection now which is nearly a guaranteed perma/IP ban sooner or later.

I was hoping this was a request for a PLEX for Bacon program, where one trades in PLEX and CCP ships bacon to their house. I was disappointed. A PLEX for Bacon program is something I could get behind, 3rd party apps that give in game advantages are not something I can get behind.

Well since CCP needs money, why not make it a PLEX--> Aurum for the Bacon Program.

Bacon was just an excuse not to watch local.. All you had to do was turn up your sound a listen.
