We need more variety in Systems.

AKA, systems with out Suns, Binary Systems ( AKA a system with 2 suns ).

At least give us some systems lacking Suns, giving us a use for the literally truck load of head lights you guys love to slap on every ship

As above, you need a star for it to be a star system.

However, a system with a brown dwarf, or a low-mass red dwarf would be a lot darker, if not completely black.

Excellent idea, regardless I would just like more variety other than. Red sun, blue sun, blue sun, red sun, orange sun.

Lacking suns seems a bit odd to me but ones with tiny red braun dwarfs giving barely any light would be nice, if only visual.

How about one with a black hole, the moment your ship enters the system it gets pulled towards the black hole. Now all we need is a bad robot called 'Maximilian' who will circle the black hole and if you get too close to it you get sucked in the blackhole and end up light years away in a 'white hole'. Cool

Plenty of empty systems where this could be implemented to.

They are in wormholes. Pretty too, for the most part.

Bear in mind, people have to build stargates in place. Why build one in a non-habitable system?


Now, for W-Space, that's another matter.

Any stellar planetary system that has had it's star ejected would most likely had the planets scattered as well. But the binary system (which is actually far more prevalent than single star systems) would be pretty sweet, as well as white, red, and maybe a brown dwarf system. Black holes would be pretty awesome as well, but they won't suck everything into it once you enter the system unless the gates are within the gravitational event horizon of the black hole. Despite their massive gravity, a black hole's gravitational profile outside of the event horizon is no stronger than it's original stellar form.

This is false.

You can't see anything ever get pulled to the event horizon due to time dilation in the relative frames, thus an outside observer cannot ever see a person cross it. But more to the point the event horizon can be comparatively small compared to the original object, thus allowing a stronger acceleration to be felt while not hitting a giant ball of nuclear fusion.

That said, an object placed near to a gravity well without a suitable escape velocity will absolutely be pulled in towards it.

It would be kinda interesting if all systems (high sec, low, & null sec) had the same variation of star types & local effects found in W-space. If all these systems exist in the same galactic cluster there would be no reason why they wouldn't share the same diversity.

every accessible system in k-space is a binary system even if you can't see the other sun anywhere

(in other words, CCP are usually the first to ignore any EVE lore they might have come up with)

I would like to see a little more variety as well. After all we are talking about a galaxy here. There should be some other interesting areas for us to explore. Smile

If the distance between 2 gates is limited then to get from a to c you need to pass through b, if the distance between them is great enough.


If the gates are just being re-used from the earlier settlement period, then non-habital systems were surported from the other side of the eve-gate, and that support mechanism no longer exists, so the planet reverts back to dead/lifeless.


Either explanation works..

Interesting.

AFAIK there are "iron stars" which has all hydrogen / helium rtc. fusioned into iron and other metals - they are like giant dead cold metallic planets. Also neutron stars. Also colored stars.

It doesn't seem to be, there are some gates which are about as long as the galactic radius. CPP has no hard-coded gate range limits, they can go as far as CCP says they go, thus no need to place gates anywhere but in habitable systems.
