How much time do you spend in Eve?

On your average week, I'll probably play 30 mins to an hour.

On a week where life is not busy and exciting things are happening in EVE, I'll probably fly in a fleet or two and mess around alone a bit, so that's 4-8 hours in the week or so.

3-4 hours a day.

Basically spend some of the free time from parenting I get, when the little lovely is asleep, on EVE. But after chores, IRL demands and such I usually get less. Baww.

I'd rather be forever alone and free to do what I choose, than be tied down to some bovine who thinks she has the right to control someone else's life. Don't let your partner tell you what you can and can't do, if he/she ever starts doing this, it's time to leave them.

Anyway, I manage around 2 hours in-game on a work day, and maybe 3-4 hours on a day off.

This.

I've had many women think they were entitled to control every second of my free time just by virtue of having a vagina. I say good riddance.

So, while I love Eve, I never get to play. I have a job and a girlfriend so the most I get to invest is about an hour or two per month. Other than that, I train forever.

There used to be a day when I could play for about 20 - 30 hours / week, but that led to a divorce. -I gave my old account away to my cousin. Now I have a new account (I couldn't walk away completely, I tried) that has just been training for the last 20 months.

I'm just curious, how often do people play, does it impact your family, and how do you make it work? For me it seems like if I can't get a block of time of at least 4 hours, there is no point to logging in. There is always yardwork, housework, office work, or other commitments that don't allow time blocks that big.

Just curious. Pirate

Same here. For me it's "Skill Queue Online" and "Shitpoasting Online".

Didn't cost me a marriage though. I really doubt a game could kill a marriage unless you are hard core gaming addict. I have seen marriages last for decades where they both veg in front if the TV every day, but of one wants to play a game instead, oh look out that's wrong.

Well, gaming is an addictive waste of time, after all.

I am one of the lucky few with a wife who enjoys doing her own thing. She draws on her tablet, listens to music, surfs the chans and I play Eve. Currently I am averaging about 40 hours a week.

Getting ready to send my youngest off to college. Eve is a great way to keep me busy. It is either play eve or shop Newegg. Eve is much cheaper.

Couple of hours a week, weekends more. I work from home, hubby is away a lot during the day through his work, so I get some free time. Also some evenings I can play on my laptop (using wifi) in the living room while he's watching his fav. tv show for another extra hour.

About 4-6 hours a day, depends on how many 'things' are happening.

I agree. I play probably for an hour or two each evening. My wife initially complained until I pointed out that it was in lue of watching the box. She never really watches TV with me so it hasn't changed anything.

You'll have to speak up, I'm wearing a towel.

Probably way too much, however my average since start in 2003 is 6 hours/day according to CCP's counter.

Thats not a bad effort rough count makes it the high side of 35500 hours, I feel sorry for the Veldspar personally.

But me, It depends, when I dont have football training or the gym then I get an hour or so while the other half watches awful TV, but if its one of the happy nights where she goes out then as long as I can before she comes back, she gives me strange looks when I sit there talking to a laptop all night. No idea why......

It depends on how things are going in the office. If everything runs smoothly, I play about 4 hours daily Monday-Friday. I usually don't play on weekends, because at the moment, I'm in a long-distance-relationship and she'd not really appreciate me playing EVE the two days we see each other.

If things don't run smoothly (as they usually do), it happens that I only can squeeze in a few hours a week and a few minutes when I need to update my skilltraining.

2-3 hours a day in the mornings after the kids are away to school. Then my husband takes over the computers in the evening for a few hours of mining or research stuff to relax and listen to music.

I bet you lied about the 3-4 hours. And about your soleness being a choice. What?

Eve too complicated? Try Astrum Regatta.

I tend to have time to play a bit every day. Usually about 2-3 hours a day (sometimes up to 5 hours), but in the weekends and holidays, it easily reaches the 10-12 hours a day, and that's without affecting family or social life.

Strangely enough although I like EVE more and more I play less and less,

Eve really is quite boring if you think about it as a game and is really only made great by the social aspect e.g Us lot

There is no randomness in EVE all paths lead to a predefined goal, nothing , say for example in the original ELITE where you would warp have a problem then find yourself in the arse end of nowhere wondering how the hell to get back.

I would love one of these WTF moments again instead of it being a disconnect or lag causing me to say it.

You can only press F1-F10 so many times before this becomes apparent, still love the game though sad addict that I am.

I probably spend 4 hours a week "actively" logged in and probably 24 hours a week with it just on in the background.

Thank whatever divine beings you may believe in, I'm not the only one who thinks so. I'd rather be happy and forever alone than stuck in a relationship based mostly on manipulation and mind-control.
