How much time do you spend in Eve?

So, while I love Eve, I never get to play. I have a job and a girlfriend so the most I get to invest is about an hour or two per month. Other than that, I train forever.

There used to be a day when I could play for about 20 - 30 hours / week, but that led to a divorce. -I gave my old account away to my cousin. Now I have a new account (I couldn't walk away completely, I tried) that has just been training for the last 20 months.

I'm just curious, how often do people play, does it impact your family, and how do you make it work? For me it seems like if I can't get a block of time of at least 4 hours, there is no point to logging in. There is always yardwork, housework, office work, or other commitments that don't allow time blocks that big.

Just curious. Pirate

Why would you pay to play a game a couple hours a month?

Very little right now.

But that is down to me lacking a sense of direction/purpose in Eve.

The wide range of choices are there, I just need to get motivated to take one or some of them.

This is not a signature.

If your girlfriend was named Eve, "How much time do you spend in Eve?" could be a loaded question...

Solution: get her hooked and play together.

I generally play for about 2~4 hours a day*
With several hours on weekend days on and off.
not every single day I might skip a day in between playing because I play between work and bed and I have a wife, family etc.
HOWEVER, I convinced her to play with me and its a blast. It was very hard for the first 2 months I played because she did not, she was always pissed off because EVE, unlike other mmos has attracted me a lot. I completely ignored her until she decided to try it and now she loves it.

I never said I was rational. I really like Eve, it's just frustrating that I haven't figured out how to make it work.

Working on this... She sees no point in anything involving sitting down or "not doing something productive".
She is a person that takes vacations to go places (shopping, sight seeing, tours, dinner out, etc), not relax.

My kind of girl. My next vacation is going to involve a lot of hiking and sight seeing in the Southwest US.

0 - at this point in time I am unable to get "in Eve." Will update you when I achieve this.

Today I logged into the game for at least 20 minutes. It was revolting. Every fiber of my being struggled against it, even though all I did was clone-jump once and autopilot somewhere over 8 jumps.

Eve too complicated? Try Astrum Regatta.

Why would you pay to watch a movie that only lasts a couple hours out of a month.

Get her interested in the skill queu.
Thats the main reason I play EVE, I am fascinated by it. It makes me feel like I progress yet I don't feel bad when I can't play for several days or even weeks because I can just hop online once, and put a long skill in que and it will help me progress on the times that I can play. ***Start slow, try to get her to play for just 30 minutes, do one sec mission or something. Don't get her stuck in high-sec, take her to low in a tiny ship and let her get blown up a few times. its fun :P

I hate most video games because I typically go out to "adventure" as you described she does.

multiple accounts many hours a day. I'm a house wife and this is one of my favorite hobbies.

Eh, conflict of interest. It happens.

People with active lifestyles should be with people with active lifestyles.

People with passive lifestyles should be with people with passive lifestyles.

Then there's all the rest in between (most relationships, unfortunately, are a struggle of "can we do X now?" but the good ones understand each other and give each other their time).

Once or twice a month for a couple of hours. Considering that playing Eve (or any MMO at that) is completely useless and makes you look like a disgrace to your family, your nation and the entire human species to most other people that's about the maximum of lifetime I'm willing to flush down the toilet.

The really cool people don't play the game at all and just use it as a means to donate money to the starving children of Iceland.

If your girlfriend only lets you play a couple of hours per month then it's time for a new girlfriend!

Do we count the forums?

If not about an hour a week.

If so, about 2 hours a day.
