Is there any plans from CCP or the community to launch any EvE tie in apps? I know of a couple such as Dusk and iClone, but these dont pull much functionality across, are EvE mon or anyone looking at developing this?

As far as iOS is concerned, I am using Eve Universe and it is quite full featured. Access to in game e-mails, exportable fittings, POS stats, skill planner and live market stats. I'm quite happy with it.

There is an EVE app, and it says official... but it seems associated with a female who engages in activities on camera for profit.

I believe CCP mentioned something a while ago about not wanting to make out of game applications because of something to do with people being creative or something along those lines.
Besides, CCP have said that they don't want to let out of game apps directly influence in game happenings, such as market or skill changing.
So anything done by 3rd party will have the same functions as an official app.

Personally, I want the in game fitting tool on an out of game app.
Full 3D ship models and all that jazz, seems like something only CCP could pull off reliably.

I really want then to allow you to update skill training from an app, not for anything other than convenience.
I find that i dont have a huge ammount of time to play and end up sometimes with a situation where a skill que wil run out at a set time and i wont be able to get on to the full game during the previous 24 hours, as I work away a lot and play on a pc, my company laptop wont let me install anything so i live off my Ipad in the interlude so it can be frustrating.
For all the people who will troll this telling me that I should have set a longer skill going this isnt always possible as I work on call so in the office all day planning to update the skill que when I get home, get a call out to a job and then can be there for as long as the job takes. Just saying having the ability to drop another skill in to your que externally from the client would be a useful function.
Sure CCP have their own reason but i can still dream.

I find it hard to believe that they would allow changing of skills outside of the client. They want you to log in and play the game, not skill up characters on accounts and never log in.

I know, but there should be some external access to be able to add an item to train, I know it opens the door to things like contracts and markets from outside the game, (again i know this wont happen) but having a light client; ie, only if your docked; that could run on ipads ect so you can access the game without needing a full laptop pc setup.

If they decide to allow players to modify the skill queue outside the game client, they might as well just remove the queue or increase the time limitation to the amount of time remaining on your account.

Personally i don't think they should change anything.

Rewatch some of the Fanfest 2012 footage. They presented the (C)REST API that's most likely going to replace the current API for third party applications. In comparison to current API, it will allow changes to be made (it has been introduced for the Dust interaction). As far as I remember, they don't have any specific date yet, but there'll be some kind of beta some time later, where you'll be able to sign up, but you'll have to provide more credentials (IIRC mobile phone or credit card number) to ensure it's not abused.

Personally, I'd still love to see some kind of lightweight (lower graphics) client for Android systems to allow doing station stuff and similar (no need for fighting etc. cause that could be a bit awkward with touch screens).

I saw some of that and it does look interesting fingers crossed it brings some of the functionality in with it, I think its in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pLi1J9YrkM&list=PLDDA989F65CD6E98A&index=5&feature=plpp_video thats game design but I might be wrong.
