Ship Spinning - A social experiment.

If each complete rotation (of your ships cameras around your docked ship) you incurred a .01 ISK fee, do you feel this would deter from your much privileged ability to perform this timeless activity?

How much of an ISK sink do you think this would be?

How would you feel if CCP implemented such a charge as a social experiment.

You know, ever since they put a counter in, I have actually stopped spinning my ships. It's like they expect us to do it now, like it's required. Therefore, I must not spin the ship.

Wait...what was the question again?

You could do it on a sliding scale. The more spins the cheaper it gets.

Buy 10 spins, get 5 free.

wouldn't stop anyone as most I bet don't break 50 ever. Yet they would whine about the wallet spam for sure.
Now if spinning gave .01 isk. you would likely see the lengths people would go to try and maximize spins per hour and try to bot it for the meager amounts. Because rewarding such a dull task is far more interesting than punishing it.

I always wanted a spin to repair 1 hp of hull. So you can spin to repair. I would totally use this feature.

1) Undock in a cheap T1 frigate at a 0.7 system.

2) Warp to any asteroid belt, find a 8,000 ISK bounty rat.

3) If none are available, repeat step (2) until rat is found.

4) Asplode rat, collect bounty.

5) Spin ship 800,000 rotation.

6) ???

7) Profit

Aeryn, that would be quite a progressive way of making ship spinners undock although most of the veterans of the sport do not need to rat for isk. :P

Deduct the spinning fee on 20 minute ticks, like rat bounties.

And I personally have spun up to 1000, the numbers flash blue. Then you vomit.

True, however... since I still needed to mine Veldspar for ISK I figure why not shoot a rat to fund my ship spinning fetishes?

Alternatively, I can also spam Local for donation without needing to leave station Lol

I don't even remember last time I docked.. and usually when I do, I leave the PC or play WoT. I doubt it would cost very much at all. The ship spinning is usually while-waiting-for-fleet-to-gather etc.

So the answer would be "not very expensive", at least in my case. I enjoy the spinning, but it's a very limited time I spend there. Even more reason why CQ is such a fail, why waste resources on an AFK-environment, especially since the benefit it might have, would've been the social aspect (which is completely lacks now). I'd like to believe that most spinning has been while hanging out on comms with your mates, so really doubt it'd be happening on a big scale.

AFK-cloaking in a system near you.

I wouldn't care as I switched Station Environments off at Incarna and never bothered turning them back on. They could bring back Door and I'd just laugh.

Also everyone would have to spin at least 250 million times a day each to even begin to get on a similar level to other sinks :o
