Hi all.

After suggestions for my next goal. I want to move up from my rifter to something bigger and that can fight at long range. A sort of sniper ship if you get my meaning :)

If you fly Minmatar, try a ruppy (Rupture) cruiser.

As far as T1 sniper cruisers go a Moa would probably be best.

Caldari Cruiser Skill Bonus: 10% bonus to Medium Hybrid Turret optimal range and 5% bonus to shield resistance per level.

Staying with minmatar, your goals should be the Hurricane, Tornado, and Tempest.
With artillery, they can all hit over 70km.

Vexor, T2 sentry drones. Garde II will give you about 500dps, 70km range.

The Hurricane and Tornado are, of course, awesome. There's a reason for the epithet "Winmatar".

QFT. The Rupture is an awesome cruiser.
Next, like the other people have been saying, you should go for Hurricane, Tornado, Tempest and Maelstrom. All wonderful ships.
If you after a 'sniper' look for fits based on artilleries.

What do you intend on using the ship for? If it's PvE, the Tornado isn't ideal for activities such as mission running since it can be difficult to fit a sustainable tank.

No, but a glass-cannon Vexor with 3x Garde IIs, all Vs, full lows/rigs with drone damage stuff can hit 450 DPS ...

Vexor is a dual-weapon ship with the weapon part consisting of a full gun rack. You fit it for damage projection and it hits bloody hard, though I'm thinking that telling people to aim for 500 dps in the New Citizens' forum may not be the best advice for the rookies.

For sniper the obvious boat would be the Moa, but a general hybrid boat fitted with rails will give you good range and damage as well (Thorax, for instance), and honestly going with the minmatar boats and using artillery should be fine, and probably preferable since you'll get there faster from Rifter skills.

Sniping Tornado for pve is a bit of a crap shoot, no drones, if you get webbed and ships come in to close you are toast. Would go rupture to Hurricane to Maelstrom.
