Cyclones over Hurricanes in ATX?

I noticed in the ATX that when it comes to Minmatar BCs almost every team went with Cyclones not hurricanes. I would have thought it the opposite. Can anyone break down why this is the case to me? Thanks

Cyclones are better suited to use ancillary shield boosters and they cost less points, making them the better bang for your buck in the tournament.

Mostly just the points. Cyclones were still more popular in previous tournaments when there was no ASB.

Simply put - Normal PVP != Tournament PVP


The cyclone is actually quite a nice boat, it just doesn't fit as well into the current styles of pvp encountered on a day-to-day basis as the hurricane.

Same argument as some of the unusual setups you might see - the fixed numbers, fixed arena, no warpout/in, etc. creates a new style which brings with it different ways of doing it.
