I have done a fair amount of searching and can't get a conclusive answer on this....
If I start a new alt on an old account, can it use the cerebral accelerator? or is it only for new toons on new accounts?

Thanks,

as far as i know, the accelerator is from the officer edition of EVE, so if you make a new account with the key enclosed, you should get the item.

They are available for purchase on contracts, pretty steep tho at 240mil a pop.

On the attributes it says Maximum pilot age is 35days, nothing about account so i presume you can install it.

It's limited by character age, not account age.

When did they change that? Used to be restricted to account age when it was introduced and actually, I'm 95% sure it still is...

Edit: Evelopedia says:

Quote:
The only drawback to this implant is that capsuleer training renders it ineffective after a while; as such, it will cease to function for pilots who have been registered for more than 35 days.

Given my poor English, I'd interpret that as a link to account creation, not character creation.

I'd like to see a link to someone testing that, because all I can find from CCP mentions characters.

I thought they were account age too.

Which brings up another question.

Are they the same as any other implant, where they must be destroyed and cannot be removed intact?

See the edit above, I used to use one, but that was on a freshly created account anyway, so I can't tell for sure.

Another edit - but it might have been changed - however, I usually read patch notes quite carefully and can't remember it being changed.

The description hasn't changed. The question is what “pilot” refers to.

Unfortunately, it's been ages since the last Sisi mirror, so there are none available there… Straight

I used one on this account. The account is brand new, so I can't speak to that particular question. I can say that it is a 'Booster' and not an implant, using it is a 'Consume' action from the right-click context menu, so no, you do not get it back.

OK, Can confirm it is based on the characters age and not the account age. I started another alt on a 1 yr old account, bought the accelerator off Jita contracts, consumed it, and the training time is down.

Not sure if your portrait is cute or abhorrent. You look like you're sick and need a hug, but at the same time you might be contagiously sick..

Eve too complicated? Try Astrum Regatta.

They're not an implant; they're a booster. They cannot be removed; they're destroyed along with the pod; they disappear when your time's up.

You look like a mongoloid.

Tears will be shed and pants will need to be changed all round.
