Internet space ship game... "space therapists" tears (well not really)

I'll make this simple.

In a game that is advertised as "harsh".
(and as a sandbox)

That allows scamming, piracy and elicit drug manufacturing (all of which I accept and support as components of the game)...including "ganking" (though I do sometimes have mixed feelings about ganking)......

....how or why does "space therapy" become such an issue for some of you?

and please read my bio for the most common concern that I am claiming to be a real life therapist.

I'm not asking for sympathy...I know this is probably the worst occupation for someone in eve. I am just looking for some comments and of course trolls to shed light on my in game career choice.

I am genuinely interested in your comments.

Interestingly enough, the last person who tried to scam me on eve was an RL therapist.

I'm curious as to if you get any customers.

Has roleplaying really become so rare in Eve that people pay 10mil for it?

Sounds like you are fabricating your own drama. No one cares about your own brand of scam/begging, so you are forcing controversy in thread to draw attention to your lackluster avenue to isk generation/personal amusement.

What exactly is it you do?

I am genuinely interested in understanding what is it you do and why is that a problem for the community.

I'd rather be a space bartender than a space therapist. Equal amounts of lol drama, but significantly more satisfied customers.

Who knows, if establishments ever come out, it might actually be plausible.

Social/Rp occupations seem pointless without avatar interaction.

I think theres a niche for social professions.

Like teacher or some thing like that.

Not exactly sure what are the uses of a space therapist other than indulge someone's need for roleplay.

Other than that not seeing a use.

Unless we can talk about real life problems, sometimes people need someone to talk to, even a stranger in space.

well the reason I posted here is because I have had eve mails private chats of people either trolling what i do or having real concerns...

I have tried to address them as best i can.

as far as what I do...well..i have examples in sell orders for that somewhere..I am not here to advertise.

okay examples.. corp mate loses ****...is down in the dumps...someone contacts me...i try to lighten up their loss

corp member contacts me...he wants me to help lighten up a corp mate over some wierd thing he never stops talking about..it's amusement and it lightens them up...

i get role players that want help with blink gambling addictions...BLUE PILL addictions...it goes on (the list)

for the most part it's fun...i like it...yet some people seem to think i am claiming to be a therapist (probably trolls) and I can say it enough...I am not a therapist.

so i wanted to ask in GD...

Well you are a therapist, your own way.

I like the idea, specially if it makes someone ingame happy. Personally i think the community needs more players like you. Keep it up and freck the haters! Smile

Sounds like you need some of your own medicine. Maybe you could start a Space Therapy support group so when you start to doubt yourself the network of like minded Space Therapists can validate you and give you the strength to endure.
