i appreciate what your trying to do making the names more intuitive BUT please for the love of god stop removing the names of rare and unique items and making them bland and boring

fe akemons implant is now noble blah blah 1008, seriously?

removing them does absolutely nothing for the game and only detracts from the flavour and awesomeness of these hard to get items. please leave the iconic names alone.

auto targetting is also pretty meh friend or foe was a much cooler name.

steamlining the naming was a excellent idea, especially with some of the shield upgrades ( which surprisingly haven't been touched yet ) and implants, but perhaps you are going too far in certain cases.

eve is supposed to be hard and supposed to be immersive. removing all the eccentricites just makes it bland.

so please reconsider your changes to unique and rare items. they deserve to keep there names

I'm glad you're doing stuff and all, but aren't there more important fixes you could be taking care of instead of just dumbing down names for the influx of console gamers you are anticipating?

Please, stop taking away my fluff.

Inherent Implants'Noble' Hull upgrades HG-1004
4% bonus to armor hitpoints

I really think that should read "Armor upgrades HG-1004" as it has nothing to do with hull (in Eve sense)

Don't see any issue with Heavy Assault Missiles coexisting with Heavy Missiles provided the 'Assault Missile' skills are renamed to Heavy Assault Missiles as that really is (and was) the only thing that was confusing other than the launcher mismatch that is now fixed.

It would be more confusing not having the heavy there as it implies the Assault Missile Launcher is of a different size.

Also to the devs complaining, as a developer myself, deal with it or suggest/develop ways to make your updates easier/automated.

It's because the corresponding skill is called "Hull Upgrades" (which strangely increases armor hitpoints despite hull and armor being two different things).

Thanks for the devblog and cleaning things up!

Way back when the first wave of renaming happened, somethings were cool and somethings not so cool. Like renaming all of the implant sets to be functional indicators of their USE. Searching for EE-04 is perfect. The renaming of some things the community has not been so forgiving over, such as adding "Prototype", "Experimental" to all of the meta 1-4 modules.

As well, some module sets are half done.

i.e. 'Arbalest' Cruise Missile Launcher VS Prototype 'Arbalest' Torpedo Launcher.

Why weren't Cruise missile launchers, rocket launchers, and heavy missile launcers prefixed with Prototype?

Anyways, getting to the point.

Simple solution for you CCP to deal with the Meta items:::

OLD Meta 4 : 'Arbalest' Cruise MIssile Launcher I
NEW META 4: 'Arbalest' Cruise MIssile Launcher M4
OR MIV
OR M.IV

You can put the M4 at the end of course. Instead of adding tons and tons of text, just do what you did with the implants and just modify the descriptor.

Also, the whole "t1 vs meta4" thing ALWAYS confuses noobs. Because they see "i" at the end of all the meta equipment and think they're "just T1", when they're really their own whole thing.

Thanks for listening. :)

Altho I in general applaud the addition of more items to the regular market I'd like to point out two problems I experience with it.
Especially the addition of faction and officer items to the market results that the market search function gives incredible cluttered results, afterall 99.99% of the time I am not really interested in the faction/officer items. Furthermore, the total market for these items is so small that it is only functional in Jita / The Forge.

As a simple solution, perhaps you could add some checkbox (on the settings page?) that determines whether or not officer/faction items are shown in the search result. Alternatively, for an über-solution (and what DEV wouldnt want to implement one of those for his/her beloved users Big smile ), perhaps you could allow us to define filters etc not unlike the current inventory filters.

I also support renaming Hull Upgrades to Armor Upgrades where ever the concerned skill / item effects armor and not hull.

Making sure "hull" and "armor" are differentiated sounds good. I can see how they got mixed up. The hull is usually considered the outer skin of a vessel. Want to upgrade it? Add armor.

Another way to get the differentiation is to rename all skills and modules to the word "Structure" if that is what they act upon. We would have "Small remote structure repair" modules.

But the word "Hull" is shorter, a consideration on our cluttered screens.

The reason this was not well received has arguably nothing to do with the idea of renaming the modules for greater clarity.

The reason is that meta levels across propulsion (MWD and AB) modules are inconsistent without clear pattern, so the renaming initiative (which is nothing more than adding a prefix to each meta level) failed to make things more clear. People noticed that things aren't really any clearer and it came across as renaming for the sake of renaming.

PS: FoxFour that's something you could also address. If it's not clear what I'm saying, take a look at the meta levels of frig/cruiser/battleship ABs and MWDs and then ask yourself if they make sense.

While you're renaming things, please look at rigs. They are a jumbled mess when sorted alphabetically, would like to see the names lead off with a Group classification word.

(something like this)
Medium Armor: Anti-EM Pump I
Medium Armor: Aux Nano Pump I
Medium Astronautic: Aux Thrusters I

Can you elaborate on this a bit? Rigs on the market currently look like:

Ship Modifications -> Rigs -> Category -> Size -> Rig

The rigs themselves are sorted first by meta level ensuring the tech 2 are at the bottom and tech 1 at the top. Then they are sorted alphabetically.

Are you referring to a difficulty in searching rather then just browsing the market categories?

Personally I would prefer Rigs -> Size -> Category. In general I'm not looking for shield rigs of all sizes at the same time - I'm looking for various types of rigs to fit to my cruiser.

As far as implants go, I'm very glad you still keep the letter/number naming scheme. I realize that a new player wants a hint of what an item is doing in the item's name. However once you buy your implants for the hundredth time, you know exactly what you are looking for. And I know that it's enough to type "PG4" to get the 3% power grid implant.

A similar thing works with some modules - for example to get the meta 4 shield extender, you can just search for "F-S9". Shield transporters are "S95". However many modules are quite difficult to search for: for example the above mentioned rigs. Searching for a "Medium Core Defense Field Extender I" is impossible without either typing out almost the entire name, or getting a dozen unrelated results. I would be very glad if a similar set of numerical designations could be adapted to more families of modules.

The culmination of this is the Rhea. I recommend anyone to try to search for the Rhea on the market, or link it in chat. Although I realize this is not as simple as changing a field in a database, I would suggest that if your search returns an exact match, that match should be shown first among the results, regardless of alphabetical sorting.

Except that the "Hull Upgrades" skill gives you +5% Armor Hitpoints per level. I've always thought it as somewhat confusing since Hull =/= Armor in EVE.

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but there are still a few items that are missing off the market, for example augmented/faction drones and faction control towers and POS mods. Certainly forgetting a few; these two just stand out in my mind.
