Do you sometimes ask yourself WHY that is?

Why are there are Drake blobs, but not Myrmidon blobs?

No, Drakes have greater Range and Drones are not fast enough to apply damage, Drakes Bonus is to resists that helps Logi, Myrms is to active tanks which works in the small scale.

I do not ask why there are no Myrmidon Blobs, I know the answer.

Look at the last Tournament ship lineup. Do you see many Gallente ships there? Those qualify as small gang, don't they? And while we're at it, how many drone boats are there? Again, why? Arena combat is practically designed for Gallente, isn't it?

There are lots of Gallente Combat Ships.

Look, I'm not saying Gallente are good or bad. I'm just saying if you ARE going to tell someone that numbers are not accurate because of X, you also have to address why they're not accurate. In example above, you have to explain why that fleet is all Drakes and not Myrmidons, and then somehow figure a way to explain how that makes Myrmidon at least as good as a Drake for most applications in the game,

Okay, put 2 Drakes up against 1 Mrymidon and see what happens to them.

Myrmidons are good at different things that don't yield as high EVE Kill Numbers. I.E Small Scale Warfare.

The Numbers on that site are skewed! It is not 1200 Ships destroyed it is 10 Ships Destroyed counted as 1200 Kills.

In other words. NOT ACCURATE!!!

Myrm will eat a Drake assuming it can catch it.

Otherwise the Myrm isn't as fast, has less range, does less damage AT less range and otherwise needs its drones to be fully operational. Yes, you can nano-fit it with arties or whatnot then you have a ghetto Hurricane that isn't as fast, does less damage and lacks neuts ......all with less thank than ....wait for it.....a Drake. Oh and its max DPS build is blaster with a 2/2/1 drone set which means solo ass heavy drones that take forever to get between targets, specially when that target it MWDing away as fast as possible, because you only have a 12km range.

There are so many drake kills because of the CFC, why? Because you can have 8mil SP and fly it effectively. So they put every swinging **** they can find in a drake and tell them to go zerg. Because its cheap, it works, and the only counters to drake blobs are generally battleships, which means they are vulnerable to getting hot dropped to blap dreads and tracking titans.

Drakes are as well of course, but its a drake, they are a 1/3 of the cost of a Hellcat Baddon, and require a quarter of the skill to fly.

Well you can see Vindicators in AT10, Proteus, enyos, iskurs, why we cant see more of them ? Maybe coz neuting range ? and Speed ? and AT is a laboratory situation its arena fight. The best ship for AT is Slepnir

Drake is one of the best ship in the game. so why not ? you can fit drake with PERMA MWD and its awesome you cant do that with myrmidon. Also Missiles are very different weapon system, and yeah Active tanking in Eve sucks CCP knows about that was discussed on FanFest as issue "They are working on that will be done soon (tm)" Myrmidon and Brutix bonus is just sucky, Imagine drake with shield boosting bonus...

The bigger fleets are in null ofc so I would not want to take a droneboat in a area they could get smartbombed in 2 seconds

There have been some match-winning Vindicators as well as Proteus's (Proteii?).

Space. It seems to go on and on forever. But then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you.

Look lets explain something about how accurate these EVE Kill lists are even in small scale warfare. I do RvB from time to time, the highest users of low scale conflict ships.

Blue Republic Ships and Weapons Used

Look at the top Frigate and Cruiser. What are they? Punisher and Maller...

They sit on the field doing less damage with a higher tank so what is the enemy FC saying. Primary is Alara IonStorm in the Thorax, burst down ******* Thorax. I am one of the top damage dealers most of the time because of it but I die first. Once there is only Mallers left on the field that is how you know which side lost. They sit there doing bottom barrel DPS while never getting shot being generally unhelpful.

If they were the only ships in fleet and a Thorax gang warps in they would be slaughtered, but since everyone who brings a helpful ship actually fights the battle they sit there and rack up mails. I flew one recently and it did exactly that, I felt useless.

But EVE Kill says they are the most dangerous Cruiser. Roll Must be true.

Gallente ships rock, enough said :p

as many pointed out it just doesnt work well in blobs, small scale skirmishes that involve close quarters combat will have gallente most always coming out at top. 2k dps dominix?? gank megathron?? ishkur that takes down battleships.., vindicators that **** entire fleets solo... it happens, just not as often as blobbing buffer tanks that appeal to logis and ranged warfare

Several years ago, Gallente ships were considered the best. Fleets would be made up of tons of megathrons. Also a lot of older players generally have Gal ships trained up, as newer players have minmatar trained up today. It's the cycle of balancing in Eve.
