Unified Inventory [more please]

OK. First I have to say that I'm not gonna jump on the bash-bandwagon. I did that for a while and althought it was released way too early, the UI is decent overall.

That being said, I would like to request the following additions & fixes (that have still yet to be applied).

1) Fix - Corp Hangars still take way to long to load. They used to be 1~2 sec, but are more like 10+ sec w/ the new UI. I hope iteration will get this fixed eventually.

2) Add - The ability to group filters.

- Mindset: Filters are awesome. It allows you to store everything in one actual container, which speeds up the entire system (programatically). Using a filter is much better than separating by containers. However, there is limited room on the screen for several dozen filters w/o scrolling and it would be nice to group them.

I haven't tried it yet, but I plan on testing this theory w/ several hundred thousands of items we have in our corp hangar/containers and use filters to see if that speeds up the process of sorting/grabbing stuff faster

3) Add - The ability to import/export filters. Unless I'm smoking crack, this is missing. It would be extremely useful in that one person can create the necessary base filters for their corp and then export to their corp-mates. Creating filters is a tedious process.

4) 'Group' / 'Module' list is extremely long. Either separate module sub-groups out by type (i.e. shield/armor/etc), or add the following to the module sub-list 'all shield/all armor". This is not a game killer, but it would be nice to create one filter w/ all shield modules in it without having to add 11 item filters. This time the number of people that need/should be using them (since there is no import/export).

5) Add more to the condition than 'is/is not'. Yes boolean is extremely easy, but you implemented the UI, with a great potential (filters) and ham-stringed it. Coding in items like 'contains', 'starts with', 'ends with' are relatively easy.

Anywho, I agree w/ most in that it was a good start, but released way to early. With a little more development, the UI can significantly enhance overall EVE gameplay.


*Caveat... I apologize if some of this has been posted before. I've been reading thru the forums and found a few additions here and there, but most were disgruntled ramblings. I thought it would be better to re-address this in a new thread, tie-in old/new requests, and follow-up from there.

Also can we get the secondary "current ship cargo" to at least close itself when changing ships? Having it open the new ship's cargo would be great too but at least the old system just closed the old one for you.

- Dragging and dropping an unlocked stack on top of a locked stack within a station container does not enter a log entry into the audit log, even though that number of items were locked.

- Give CEO ability to lock down unused BPOs inside a corp hanger without having to pretend to install it into a manufacturing line first. Talk about unnecessary time and effort. In fact, you should get rid of the entire voting mechanic in this game truth be told...but I know some will disagree.

I just want to see the 'closed/open' state of the main window be seperated between space and station...b/c i don't need that big screen open in space, but it can be handy in station...just not the need to close it every undock and open it every dock...you got the persistence half way done.

Also, can i please, pretty please, access my drone bay/hangers of my ships w/o that stupid tree? Also, would be nice to be able to get to those parts of 'inactive' ships like before this hogwash happened...(without using the tree)

I couldn't personally care less about the filters as i have yet to even use them...(especially since they take up valuable tree scrolling space)...if i can't find something fast i just use the 'search' box in the corner...like i did since i started.

Unified inventory has come a long way, but it still seems short of its potential.

The (current ship's) Cargo Bay & Item Hanger icons and Ship Bay in Neocom are what I miss most.

I would like to be able to create shortcuts to the secondary windows (by dragging from the primary window tree structure to the neocom? Right click on the neocom icon when secondary is open?)

Would streamline a lot.

Oh and speaking of streamlining... distribution missions loading payload to cargo bay (error and drop in item Hanger if not enough room), or maybe pop open a delivery secondary window with a loot all button. Lets take a little of the tedious out of that style of "play". (Hate'em but do them for standings for my less martial chars.) Not strictly unified inventory yes. But the current unified inventory makes this even worse than it used to be since its not as straightforward to bring up the item bay and drop it to the ship, and even if that is fixed, this is worth doing for relief from frustration many would have, from the tutorials on down.

The only end-game content in EVE Online is the crap that makes you rage quit.

Please give us a shortcut to open the corporation hangar and a ship's fuel bay.

f*ck off with the unified inventory. its still annoying the hell out of me because everything is attempted to open in the same window, which I simply do not want because its bad UI.
No more of the unified inventory CR*P, give us back the old one!!!!!!!!

It ain't going away so you're just gonna have to deal with it. We just as well attempt to make it better.

Would also be nice if double-clicking on containers to open them actually worked more than half the time.
