Hi

First I will declare I am a laser user and not a Missile user!

But riddle me this?

Why change Fire & Forget one of the most commonly known military acronyms out there with a reasonable 1.4 millions hits on Google ( Fire And Forget missile) as meaning an 'Auto-Targeting' missile.

To 'Auto-Targeting' which until you decided to use it for Fire & Forget I never heard of and only has 45,700 on Google ( "Auto Targeting" missile) and the leading hits are all Egosoft's X-Universe game & non-military?

Also F.O.F. uses far less screen space than 'Auto-Targeting' even your example picture has the 'Auto Targeting' missile names running off the screen. so if users want to see the full name they will need to increase the name column width.

If you wanted to change it to anything then 'FoF' might be better as that is the universal short hand rather than the EVE current F.O.F. for 'Fire & Forget'

The whole thing with Assault Missiles vs. Heavy Assault Missiles is that the skills are now called "Assault Missiles" and "Assault Missile Specialization" as opposed to the former "Heavy Assault Missiles" and "Heavy Assault Missiles Specialization". So by changing Assault Missiles back to Heavy Assault Missiles, things have gotten mismatched again. I appreciate you were trying to make the ammo match the launcher, but you need to look at which is using the name of the associated skill.

Thank you for the reminder. I did get the FOF skill but did forget that. I will take a look as soon as I get back to the office tomorrow.

Feedback from the community and internally has said that when hunting for implants the first thing most do is think of a category (Armor), fill that, and then fill their remaining implant slots after that by going to the next category they want. Instead of trying to explain what this means in words, here is a picture.

That is not all though. No no no. We had this issue of some implants displaying their bonus in the description, some not. Those that did display their bonus in the description all did it in varying ways. Fixed. All hardwiring implants should now have the same formatting for their descriptions.

That reminded me also that there are no Light Assault Missiles / Heavy Assault Missiles opposed to Light Missiles / Heavy Missiles to justify the renaming of the Assault Missiles back to Heavy Assault Missiles. Although HAM sounds better than AM.

Edit: Now if you plan to give us Light Assault Launchers that fit Light Assault Missiles on Light Assault Ships (Frigates) that would justify the renaming (again).

Okay, I would have preferred the Assault Missile name (for both the missiles and the launchers) instead of HAM, because of the HAM/Heavy confusion possibility, but just knowing that y'all thought about it carefully is a comfort. Smile

F.O.F. in Eve meant "Friend or Fo"

HAMs and LAMs, two tasty options for in your face missile DPS.

Have to say I like it.

If you really wanted to get crazy, you could add Civilian Shuttles (x4), Goru's Shuttle, Guristas Shuttle, and the Interbus Shuttle to the market next Big smile

I like seeing everything coming onto the market though. Thanks CCP

While I get updating the names of modules such as in equipment in real-life updating [we aren't using trebuchuets anymore], they aren't really very eve like names imo. A real lack of originality in them [un-EVE like] though in the end names don't really matter as people will get used to them.

Maybe this is a real waste of dev resources, Im not sure. Couldn't you people be doing something more tangible?
Do you really get paid [or pay yourselves?] for swapping a few names around? If you are going to change the
names of modules etc, couldn't it all be done in one go [or maybe a lot more in one go, not neccesssarilly
everything] in an expansion or something?

9 years later will the names be swapped around again? Maybe it would have some merit, maybe not.

CCP FoxFour, I am currently drinking The Glenrothes Vintage 1988 Whisky. Do you think this is a good choice tonight? Also, what frigate would go best with this particular whisky for solo PvP in low-sec?

I would like to take this opportunity to encourage and thank CCP for all the work they have been doing the last 18 months at fixing everything from ridiculously-stupid-items to gameplay and server/client performance.

While in my head all my favorite missiles are still 'bane', I can and will eventually change. I deeply appreciate synchronizing the names, changing icons between AB/MWD, form fitting shields, missile animations, missed shot laser/projectile animations, PI fixes from the original rollout, overview performance fixing, and especially time dilation.

All these things were needed for years, and decrease the level of frustration for both new pilots and old.

Now if only we could get major updates that didn't automatically start coding secstatus/criminal standing more important than allies and lead to friendly fire....I understand noobcorp tags and standings are less important than sec status for noobs...but every other standing is far more important than sec status for every other pilot.

Now...for that secret 'Windows Module' research development that can consume entire systems of all their resources both asteroid and planet. Currently trying to get the fitting and use requirement down to 4 teamed titans instead of 5 titans. Also need to get the waste yield of 'scorched circuit boards' and 'burnt circuit boards' down to a reasonable number.

It is actually as follows:
HG-1001 = Short name for implant
HG-1001 = Slot number
HG-1001 = Percentage boost the implant gives

I am actually not sure what the Inherent Implants represents.

But why the "HG" part is not unique? Might be for this one (I didn't check) but there are different implants with same code. So far all I've seen have been for different slots so "HG-10" part has been unique as far as I've noticed.
