Trial Progress Lost?

I played the trial for Eve online a while ago (1 or 2 years) and I was very happy with it, but couldn't get into it at the time.

I had made some pretty decent progress however.


Today I purchased an account and logged into the game (same account as the trial was on), expecting my old character with all his old ships and money and items and skills to be there, but he wasn't!


I don't know why I lost my character and why I can't play on him. Anybody have any idea of why this could be?

They only save trial accounts for a max of 6 months to a year.

Really? That really pisses me off...

Do you think there is a chance I could get it back?

I doubt it....once they delete it it's gone.

You could try and create a petition (from the in-game help menu). No guarantee that it will do any good, though.

I managed to dig up a three-year-old trial character and still use it to this day as an alt, so it's worth a shot =)

Not a forum alt.

They only ~guarantee~ that they will not delete Trial characters for 6 months. CCP has never actually done a wipe. If you had anything on your old trial, it should still be there.

Did you purchase a new game account using your existing email address?

And can you remember your old character's name? You could look it up in game and you should find that it still exists.

Sounds like you purchased new account?

To upgrade trial account you need to login to Account Management with that account name/password, and when you do you will see all characters on that account - even before you upgrade the account.

I confirm this, my old trial char is still there, about 4 or 5 years old. Forgot login/password years ago though.
