what to do about Jump Bridges?

Step 1:

Remove Jump Bridge from Player Owned Stations.

Step 2:

Make Jump Bridge anchorable only at a planet.

Step 3:

Increase Jump Bridge HP and give it a Reinforce timer.

Step 4:
Remove activation restrictions from Jump Bridge

Step 5:
Remove Fuel bay from Jump Bridge

Step 6:
Keep activation cost but fuel must be in host ship

tldr:
Increase risk for 0.0 JB network by making them work like stargates that do not have the POS as a defence...

ok but if you do that... make it so the JB can be hacked but make the hack a chance based so you could get it the first time but it could take a few min to hack the JB...

No Alliance members only, no super highways.

step 1:

frack off about jump bridges

step 2:

use intel to figure out where the JBs are (which system)

step 3:

guard those systems

=========================

just FYI stuff:

what would power the JBs without a POS ?

what is the point of your post? getting tired of not being able to shoot people? easier tears?

do you even know how expensive it is to erect (giggity) and maintain a JB ?

since they had it changed to only one JB per system, you are given a chance to intercept anyone using it by scouting.

would the overview now show the JBs at the planets? and again, what would be powering it?

=========================

methinks you just want easier tears. otherwise these sound like terrible ideas.

JBs aren't really that much of an issue, if you really want to hurt an alliance you can still kill their care bears in space or sometimes catch them at gates when roaming through their sov.

If you want something to ***** about try JFs, titan bridging regular freighters (for moving outposts) and local Intel. Not that I want to see local removed, but it could certainly do with a nerf.

The EASIEST way, with the GREATEST effect would be adding "recent bridges" to the map.

The text would show ship class, pilot name, and destination as well as the planet and moon of the POS.

This would add a meaningful balance to the system, and would easily be explained due to distortions in space-time caused by instantaneous travel.

It could be explained that titans are able to mask their own bridge capabilities, this could easily be explained by the massive costs associated with titan production.

Additionally this generate a market for a Tech II version of the existing Jump Array which would reduce the time these notifications are displayed, but would obviously require a more significant investment, both financially and developmentally.

Now with 100% less Troll.

While the whole power projection thingy has been beat to death I think I would agree with making JBs alliance only. No hacking or anything. Alliances should sure as hell be able to have good mobility around their own space but not be able to get to the other side of null sec in 15 minutes.

The titan bridged freighters is a problem too. Perhaps remove that ability by coming up with a reason like JBs are less capable than stargates and thus can only go up to battleship in size. (both normal and titan ones)

This would mean GREAT incentive to get a JF. And to properly protect normal freighters.

With POS JBs being stuck to their host POS and only allowing people of the same alliance to use them you could now use titans as your offensive vehicle, letting support fleet bridge beyond the alliance's borders.

Even the Jump Bridges around our heavily defended starbases still regularly get camped by hostiles who wrack up kills on them until we can be bothered to do something about it. Sorry you're having trouble effectively utilizing ambush tactics around Jump Bridges.

I'll just be over here with my squad of bombers chucking bombs at the new jump ins around your bridges... wait I meant drive by sniping battleships.

I do know cloak-dictors are involved in these Jump Bridge camps somehow.

Really whining about Jump Bridges is so passé. We're outright dropping Outposts on our enemy's doorstep these days when we invade them. That's what you should be whining about. Strategic outposting!

The Republic University is well known for their extensive Jump Bridge network.

Jump bridges are not a big issue.

Titan jump bridging fleets across the galaxy in a short amount of time is the bigger issue.

Under the old GD standards I would have replied with something along the lines of: How does it feel to be immune from adult prosecution in Alabama? But now I have to say something, like the topic is convoluted and difficult to reply to without deviateing off topic or just generally trolling and the thread should be locked.
