ratting up sec question

oh hay internet friends

ive got 2 chars both -10. going to be ratting them up in hostile 0.0 / npc.

main will probably be in a ganky oracle w/ cloak + mwd to escape non bubble camps (tried efting a co ops legon but dps was too sh!tty)

alt is a support char and has poor offensive skills. going to bung him in a scout legion probably....

.... but my question is..... if i jump into a system, find a BS, gank it with the oracle....and get my alt to wh0re onto the kill, will both chars get the same sec increase (ie it's not diminished in any way is it?)

Yes, just get ur alt to follow in a frig or something, shoot it once with the frig and leave him on grid until the BS is destroyed by the oracle, then jump system and repeat, thats how i got my character from -6.

And no the sec status is not diminished.

A solo stealth bomber works as well, and is pretty cost effective. Why would you grind up your sec status? Nobody likes a quitter! Pirate

how do stealth bombers fare against 0.0 belt rats tanking wise?

EFT is coming in at about 400 shield HP per bomber....im scared.

If you fit resistance specific shield mods it works great. Just kite and kill frigate first. Then you can get closer to the BS. Or find belts with no frigs.

ahh

in that case i'll probably just stick with the oracle.. the sole aim of the outing is to get my sec up as fast as humanly possible

i want to warp to a belt, alpha the sh!t out of a BS then move on to the next system

From experience the stealth bomber is much better, Your oracle will most likely be killed eventually due to lack of covops cloak.

Fit the bomber full gank no tank, warp to belt shoot 3 volleys, cloak, wait 10s (the amount of time it takes to reload anyways) Declock and volley again, repeat until bs is dead dont kill any other rates. Move systems.

The cloaking will make sure no npc ever gets a lock on your SB making this method incredibly safe and fast. For ultra speed have your alt in one to.

Since you're going for sec status. Load up on T2 or faction ammo - and most BS rats will drop in 3-4 vollies, most will not even get a chance to lock you before you're warping out. Just position your self to avoid scramming/web rats or use your alt to speed tank. Heck you can use a target painter on your alt to tag the target and it will even help you drop things quicker.
