Every one of these beats what we have now hands down.

CCP mostly sucks at their job, but Veritas is a pretty cool dude.

They sure do. +1 Little things like awesome sounds add so much to a game.

I remember hearing these back when I first joined. These, pod squishes, and some other things that really made Eve a lot more immersive (to use that horrrible buzzword) got taken out without notice or explanation years ago. I think it would add a lot if things like that were put back in. They're just sounds; it doesn't affect the mechanics of flying around and killing people in the slightest, but it made it a helluva lot more fun to do.

I wonder if they could bring those sounds back, but also have the option to turn them off, when you hear them too much. Like so many features in EVE now.

You're absolutely right.

When i saw Clear Skies the first time,
i wondered why they changed the sounds.

The old ones sound much more ... urky ... that's no word, but ... +1. lol

Next time I make a thread I'm gonna post it at a time of day when developers might actually see it. Welp.

You could tweet them, but not sure if that is considered rude or not.

Because people need to something for their salary. And if there is no big whine after their work - it's a good work.

Look at the cruise missiles on raven
http://www.xfire.com/video/576aa2/
it's fine on the mos of the ships, it's ok from the most of the angles, it's looks good on the trailers. We're know that there is the flaws but we're already done missiles and got our salary. So there will be not fix until the next planned missiles overhaul (a few years).

in 2007 i've thought it's a sci-fi simulator, not an "e-sports" game. I'm not a teenager, how would i like it much?

To an extent I have to disagree. I get where you're coming from but to me they sound like something from an ancient 8-bit game.

I'm not saying the new ones are fantastic though, they have a kind of fluid sound to them which I like, but they do miss that BOOM that the old sounds did have.

I would personally love to hear a kind of blending of the ones we have now and the old.. make those old sounds smoother, but still sound like you're being shot out of a cannon!

Also, because nobody's said it yet.. EVE has sound?

For me, the old gate fire sounds gave a sense of titanic movement and energy consumption, as you were atomised and fired across the Light Years.

The new sounds, when I first heard them they came across like a wet fart. From someone who then left the room without syaing anything.

Just rude.

Out of curiosity, could you replace the gate fire sounds on your client with the old ones?
