Eve as an MMO-RTS

I have always resisted the idea of multiboxing in Eve.  For various reasons I finally changed my mind and took the plunge and dived into the cold deep waters of multiboxing. I installed IsBoxer and have spent the last few weeks multiboxing up a storm.

I have never had more fun in Eve.  Last night it hit me.  With multiboxing Eve is no longer an MMO-RPG for me.  It is now an MMO-RTS.  I have often dreamt of an awesome persistent world MMO-RTS.  I never realized it has been sitting there on my desktop for all these years.

Long live Eve. The best MMO-RPG/MMO-RTS in the universe.

The CCP marketing team should be looking at Eve from this angle :-)

This is the real thread. The other was some weird thread duplication error.

Anyway, it confused me :-)

EVE has a lot of strategic aspects. The entire 0.0 sovereignty game can be viewed as a RTS by some - only that the units you're controlling aren't infallible computer-controlled henchmen you can send to certain death without a second thought, they are real living breathing feeling people. In addition to that they have the freedom to simply pack up and leave your alliance if they don't like your playing.
