Hello everyone, i had some qeustions about Factional Warfare which the Wiki couldn't really answers for me, so here they are! :)

1. Is it recommended to join the NPC FW Corp or a Player-run FW Corp?

2. Are all FW Corp Missions in low-sec?

3. Is it worth doing anyway? I saw this pretty slick map at the Militia Office about which faction controls which system and such, but does it actually make a difference or not?

4. The Militia Office states scanning down objectives, is that with just using the Directional Scanner or is it probing?

That's all i could think of right, will add more once they spring to mind. :)

Thank you in advance.

1. It depends. If you are fairly new to PvP or dont really know much about FW mechanics I guess probably the NPC Militia corps.

2. Pretty much, yes

3. Yes. You can run most missions with a well fit frigate and make serious ISK if your militia is winning (you get LP cost reductions for rewards, the cost of them can literally quarter so it makes a HUGE difference if you are winning and system upgrades make a huge difference too).

Got another qeustion.

The Militia Office states scanning down objectives, is that with just using the Directional Scanner or is it probing?

Use the system scanner. No probes are necessary - just double check your filter to make sure that cosmic sigs (or is it anomalies) is set.

Start with an NPC corp, get your bearings, and find some people who know WTF they're doing and latch onto them like a teddy bear. If you get along, ask to join their corp. Don't just join one blindly. If a FW corp would accept you blindly out of hand, there's a reason for that, and probably not a good one. Make some friends, and get involved quickly.

2. Are all FW Corp Missions in low-sec?
Yes. They are also the most efficient way to gain standings and ranks, 10x-40x what you would get for capping a single plex.

3. Is it worth doing anyway? I saw this pretty slick map at the Militia Office about which faction controls which system and such, but does it actually make a difference or not?
Controlling a system means that the enemy cannot dock in any stations there. the more systems you control, the easier it is to get higher tiers of warzone control which will directly affect the prices you pay for things in the LP store. Missions will not help you gain control of systems, plexes will.

Your onboard scanner will reveal all, it's the first tab of the scanner interface.
