I support this idea. It'll create new opportunities for clever entrepreneurs (of which the Goons have many) to extract near-effortless profits by exploiting the inefficiency of this new market.

How does ganking a miner make you better than the miner? The ability to apply damage does not prove superiority, only that you trained differently and have a different value system. If you go by isk raised, a trade would be better without ever firing a shot.

This was just someone's proposal for an embargo, and we are pointing out why it would work.

How does ganking a miner make us better than said miner? Well, for one, we're not stupid enough to go mining buckass nekkid in a untanked ship designed for group Nullsec mining. Just a thought.

CCP has even flat out repeatedly spelled this out for everyone recently -- the Hulk is not meant for solo AFK (BOT) mining operations. It's time to stop acting like it is.

But yeah, this is a fine idea, I do like the meta-game Market PVP concept, but unfortunately we all have market NPC alts. This wouldn't work. You literally don't know if the person you're selling to is a CFC member or not.

I wouldn't mind seeing some form of synergy between High and Null -- Making it so there are things that only Nullsec can provide, and things that only Highsec can provide. The problem is, any such situation by definition requires Highsec lose access to those materials and become reliant on Nullsec -- and the second you even suggest that, the AFK Bot Miners and the like, those who don't actually like the game enough to play it, have absolute fits.

For the more forward, long term thinkers, the idea that, say, Ice could only be mined in Nullsec, is absolutely delightful. It would give small scale PVP a reason to exist again, it would kill the very idea of "bot mining" for Ice, and it would give people a reason to be in Nullsec and a potential "growth" path for people in Highsec, which in turn would stir things up quite effectively.

Similarly, the idea that Highsec might have things that only Highsec could provide is... the reality today. Datacores, for example.

Careful now, Market Manipulation is now an exploit. As is being smart enough to make money in EVE. It's the new "Harrison Bergeron" policy in place -- we Goons are only allowed to be as smart as the average mouthbreathing Jita bot.

Everything is impossible, until it's done.

Don't know about the rest, but if I was a Hulk miner that lost my ship to a jihadist, all my ore would already be going to the enemies of those that ganked me .. and at a significant discount.

Also, not everyone wants to join some nul alliance. Thus email suggests you have time to just mull around in nul, mining. During my nul stint, we were having constant ctas and such, limiting free time to mine, and if u weren't fighting, u risked being kicked out of corp/alliance. Plus many alliances want all toons in their nul group, preventing u from having hi sec indy toons separate that can make isk or play when not wanting to deal with nul drama.

Ugh. For anyone who wants to know how GoonSwarm keeps members, we don't ever, ever do CTA bullshit. Why would anyone choose a corp that forces you to fight or be kicked out? No wonder everyone in high sec is so high-strung. Join a corp that lets you play how you want, when you want.

Honestly, the best advise you can give miners has already been given, they just refuse to adapt.

This is a way to adapt. And this can set an even playing field. Market PVP on new level. Since I started playing this game I always thought you should be set a blacklist for your market and contract items. Why sell items to those you consider enemies. That catalyst you sold just destroyed the hulk you used to produce it.

Yeah, you should all do this. Then, when the volume of minerals you are trying to sell is way too high for the demand of the tiny market share you are selling to, our alts can buy up the severely depressed ore/minerals and control even more of the mineral market, as well as build our ships well below normal cost.

This wouldn't affect GSF at all. They'd just use their High-sec mining/Manu alts to get their goods.

But then they would get ganked...

Nah, we mine all the time, in hulks no less.

We have this crazy system, though, where we mine in large numbers, and we have intel watching nearby systems for hostiles. For some reason, no one else is able to do this.

It's almost like we're playing the game intelligently and not just whining about game mechanics.

You guys need to think a little less micro and a little more macro. Sure, the economic effect on the target (Goons) might be negligible. It most likely wouldn't even be apparent or observable. But, if it has even a small disrupting effect on their routine, then it has some effect. They have to change and adapt somehow, and that requires spending game time and effort.

Citing some examples from this thread: Using a high sec trading alt-- Well, that takes time and attention, that could otherwise have been spent doing something more efficient or productive. Mining for minerals themselves-- Same thing. Time spent doing that, instead of on doing something else they may have planned. If you want to hurt an opponent group in an MMO, one good way is to make them spend their game time doing reactive things, instead of proactive things.

Right, but the difference here is that for the last however many years, goons have always improved at this game by learning the mechanics and how to play well, while most of high sec just sits around crying about CCP changing things and refusing to adapt (Hulkageddon has been going on for years, yet highsec miners by-and-large still refuse to tank their hulks or just use a different ship, instead opting to "play" by repeatedly begging ccp to change game mechanics around their playstyle.)

**** with the markets all you like, we'll adapt, it's what we do, and we do it a lot better than you do. There are some brutal traders in GSF that would absolutely crush you if you tried to pull this plan off.

In 1972 , a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum-security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem...if no one else can help...and if you can find them...maybe you can hire...The A- Team.

I personally think you're a jerk to try and profit off of completely irrational, unjustified dislike and hatred. You're like Nic Cage in Lord Of War (except not as cool... no offense but it's physically impossible to be cooler than nic cage)
